5. Long Slumber

The lonesome moon glares all over the landscape. Smokes and chatter can only be heard nearby the mountains, there were people setting up camp for the night.  However, these "people" were bandits who had nothing but bad intentions.

"I heard everyone in Coda Village is about to bail out tonight." Said Bandit "A."

"Sounds like easy pickings for us." Said Bandit "B."

"It's not like we got a lot of guys man." Said Bandit "C" who was trying to convince the others to think of another pl

"Well check this out, a bunch of the defeated soldiers are camping out.  They'll jump at the chance to join us!" Said Bandit "A."

"If we offer those guys something, we can make an army of our own.  And take the city!" Said Bandit "A."

"And force some lord out of the area." Said Bandit "C."

-Chuckles- "From leading a few troublemakers to having my own city.  I like it." Said Bandit "A" with a malicious expression.

All of the sudden, the head of Bandit "A" was severed from his body without warning.  The other bandits didn't react what was happening until his head was rolling on the floor, all of them were consumed by fear.

-Laughs softly-

"Good evening, gentlemen." Said Rory.

The other bandits looked up to the direction of Rory, not being able to move a muscle due to fear.

"I'm so glad that you could all get together like this." Said Rory while licking her lips.

Rory raises her scythe above her.

"And I'm very thankful that you would offer your lives to charity." Said Rory.

The bandits were stepping back, afraid of what would happen next.

"For the supreme god loves the way how naughty you boys are behaving.  You should be honored that he's asking you to join you in the after life."Said Rory.

One by one, the bandits fell into pieces as their bodies were severed from the unseen scythe striking them at lightning speed.

"You may call me Rory Mercury, I am an apostle of the dark god Emroy!" Said Rory.

"Holy hell... It's really her... It's actually Rory the reaper!" Yelled Bandit "C."

"And her gown... she really is an apostle of Emroy!" Exclaimed Bandit "D."

"We need to run!" Yelled Bandit "C."

"Oh no you don't." Said Rory.

It was useless for the bandits to escape, they were only delaying the inevitable.  Bodies were sliced in half like a hot knife through butter.  The last bandit remained saw nothing but his own death as the blade of the scythe reflected back to him like a mirror.

The carriages and wagons continued forwards on the path while being escorted by the otherworlders.

"120 over 80, she might wake up soon sir." Said Kurokawa analyzing the elf's body.

"That's good, not sure she wants to." Said Itami.

"Not any of them tell where they're going?" Asked Kurata.

"Nah, not really." Said Itami who felt bored.

"Woah, you're kidding right?" Said Kurata.

"An evacuation effort is a lot more tiring than I thought it would be, even with the help of soldiers from the future." Said Itami.
