You Are What You Wear

"I'm so glad we got those Mersummer clothes when they launched! The seashell bikini and scale bikini bottoms with the fishnet skirt so give off mermaid vibes!" A teen girl with blonde hair exclaims, walking down a boardwalk. "Oh, my Gahd! The moon is so pretty! Let's take a picture! Hashtag Mersummer!"

The moonlight hits their body, and their legs twist together into one large limb. Their skin bursts with scales corresponding with the clothing's color. A tail forms as they look at their bodies in shock.

"Oh, em gee! Aahhh!" The blonde girl screams with her friends.

"Ok, it's official! Robin, Dick, and their dweeb friends are annoying the absolute hell out of me!" Clover rants, opening her powder compact. "Augh! Look, just talking about them is giving me wrinkles!"

"I swear if another person walks up and talks to me today," Sam threatens, practically squeezing the crap out of her water bottle.

"Oh, my God! Hey, girls!" Artemis yells, running to Sam, Clover, and Alex.

Sam turns around and throws a sudden right hook at Artemis. The blonde superhero is knocked out and falls to the ground.

"Shut the fuck up, and stay away from us!" Sam shrieks, getting held back from throwing more punches by Sam and Alex.

"Down, Sammy! We need to burn off that anger with aggressive sale-hunting and shopping!" Clover says, pulling Sam away. "Look, La Sirena is having a Mersummer sale for their new clothing line."

The girls go into La Sirena and look at all the ocean and mermaid-themed merchandise.

"Oh! This coral red is so my color!" Clover squeals, pulling out a seashell-bustier top with a pink skirt that looks like it has scales on it. "What do ya think? So me or nah?"

"So you! I'm waiting for their green and purple collection to come out next week," Sam says, already planning an Arielesque outfit.

"Me too! I'm waiting on their gold collection," Alex comments, looking at the makeup aisle.

Clover takes the clothing set to the check-out counter, and the cashier rings up her item. Sam and Alex leave the store and are sucked into a WOOHP tunnel.

"Morning, ladies. Also, nice right hook, Sam. There's been a rash of girls and women disappearing across the East and West Coasts, the coasts of Rome, Sicily, and Greece. All of them were wearing a La Sirena Mersummer collection outfit before they disappeared. By the way, where's Clover?" Jerry explains, showing security footage of girls disappearing.

"She was checking out an outfit from the Mersummer collection when we got WOOHPed," Sam answers, remembering Clover is still in the store.

"Well then, I should be giving out gadgets now. First, we have the Miniaturizing EarRing Electric Trident. Press the button in the middle of the trident, and it will grow to full size. When you press the button again, it will shoot an electric net at a target. Next, we have Aquatic Wet Suit. It can withstand pressures close to the ocean floor. Finally, we have Siren's Choker. One scream while wearing this, and it will produce a sonic scream that will deafen, disorient, and knock out enemies. Along with destroying structures like rocks and any other material underwater," Jerry says, giving the gadgets to Alex and Sam. "Ta-ta, girls!"

Alex and Sam are sent back to the shopping district with the gadgets in their aquatic backpacks. They see Clover sitting on a bench and run to her.

"Here's your gadgets. Can you do us a favor and put on the outfit you bought? We need it for a mission," Sam asks, putting on her trident earrings.

"Oh! Why can't I ever buy clothes not made by an evil bitch?" Clover groans, digging around in her bag.

Meanwhile, Oliver Queen, also known as Green Arrow, has concerns regarding the girls after finding Artemis unconscious with a broken nose in the streets of Gotham.

"Batman, maybe it would be in our best interest to stop meddling in the girls' lives. I think it's starting to annoy them, and I'm worried that one day they'll take the kids hostage," Oliver says to Batman. "I mean, for the love of God, Sam got so annoyed with Artemis that she punched the crap out of her. She's still knocked out."

"The kids can handle a punch...or two. Besides, how hard could it be to make friends with a group of teen girls?" Batman questions, turning to Green Arrow.

"You've never been around a group of teen girls, have you?" Green Arrow asks, realizing Batman doesn't know how teen girls operate. "Look, it's hard for anyone to break into a well-established group of teen friends. Never mind a group that are spy coworkers."

"They'll find a way," Batman says, returning to sending the DNA results that revealed the spy's identity to the rest of the Justice League.

"This isn't going to go well," Green Arrow says, walking away.

Sam and Alex wait behind boxes of cargo while watching Clover.

"What am I supposed to do?" Clover asks, waiting around in the moonlight on the edge of the dock, secretly speaking through her X-Powder.

"Just wait there. Somebody might come," Sam whispers back, waiting for someone to come.

"Ow! My legs!" Clover shrieks, falling to the ground and rolling into the harbor water.

"Clover!" Sam and Alex scream, running to the dock.

Bubbles come out of the water, and suddenly Clover's head pops up with a red, shimmery, scaley tail.

"Clover, you're a mermaid!" Alex exclaims, gasping in shock at Clover's predicament.

"Guess we know why the girls disappeared. They're in the ocean," Sam realizes, trying to look for any clues. "Look! There's still some of your skirt left on your tail."

Sam puts the piece of red fabric on her X-Powder for instant analysis.

"Woah, it says the skirt has traces of mermaid DNA and magic infused into the fabric. Alex, mind giving your witch boyfriend a call?" Sam asks, looking at Alex.

The girls arrive at Klarion's castle, and he magically scans her tail.

"Yep, that clothing was cursed. Luckily, I can do a tracing spell and find out who did it. Unfortunately, I can't reverse the curse," Klarion says, stopping his scanning spells.

"What? Why?" Alex asks, making Klarion feel a weird disappointed feeling.

"Normally, anyone can reverse a curse, but this one has restrictions. Only the person who cast the curse can undo it. Think of it like a google docs link. You can either set it to share with everyone, and they can edit it, or just a view link, and they can't edit anything, Klarion explains, showing Alex and Sam graphics. "Fortunately, I can reverse the curse if you find the person and get them to reverse the restrictions."

"Well, where did the tracing spell say the curse came from?" Alex asks, opening her X-Powder and putting on her gadgets.

"Atlantis. By the way, here's this gill strip. It'll let you breathe underwater like you're an Atlantian," Klarion says, putting a nude strip with waves on it around Sam and Alex's neck. The strip melts into their skin, and gills form on their neck. "Go. From the looks of the curse, you only have two nights until it becomes permanent."

Klarion opens a portal to Atlantis, and Sam and Alex jump through it. He throws Clover into the portal.

"Ok, the tracing spell is pointing into the city market," Alex says, looking at the red laser beam coming from Clover's chest. "Let's go, girls!"
