"I don't mean to shit on any of my students, but that Rowoon kid needs to stop acting like he's better than everyone else just cuz his father owns some rich ass company," Yeonjun stated.Yubin snorted out laughing.
"I wholeheartedly agree."
"I still can't believe I thought he was a sweet child at first. I feel deceived," Arin pouted.
"Aww, don't worry love," Yubin wrapped an arm around Arin and sweetly squeezed her. "Some kids are like that."
"Well, at least Juhyeok isn't, amirite Soob?" Yeonjun asked.
Soobin glanced at him after spacing out.
"What?"
"Dang, socializing on New Year's Eve was not on your to-do list," Yubin remarked.
"Definitely not."
The group of teacher friends had gathered together at the boys' apartment to have a round of drinks (except Soobin) and just to chat about how 2022 went for them.
Arin clapped her hands in realization.
"Oh, I forgot to ask all this time Yubin; how did the parent-student day go?"
"Wonderfully. Soobin can confirm, right?"
Silence.
"Right?"
The tall ravenette snapped out of his thoughts.
"Oh, yes, it was nice."
"You were there?" Yeonjun asked with a raised brow.
Soobin nodded.
"I allowed him," Yubin informed.
"It must've been lovely, right?"
No response.
Yeonjun grabbed the spare glass of water they filled just in case someone gets wasted and chucked it towards his face.
"Hyung what the hell?!" Soobin yelled, wiping the excess water off his face.
"Sorry not sorry."
You bastard fox.
"What's wrong Soobin; you're usually not this unresponsive at our hangouts," Yubin asked.
"Isn't it obvious? He's in love," Arin teased.
"How do you know?"
The three friends stared at their maknae with perplexed eyes. Such a confirmation was the last thing they expected to come out of his mouth.
"I-I... merely meant it as a joke... but—"
"Soobin, you're in love and you didn't tell us?" Yubin exclaimed.
"Betting ten bucks it is who I think it is," Yeonjun mumbled.
Soobin slowly nodded.
"Yeah... but I'm not entirely sure either."
"Who is it?" Arin asked.
"Is it Mr Kang?"
Soobin was unfortunately drinking his soda, and spat out the contents back into his glass, choking. Yeonjun instantly smacked him on the back, and Soobin swore his ribs cracked from the force.
"H-Hey, easy!" he exclaimed.
"You almost died just now!"
"Did not!"
"Okay, that's a no," Yubin concluded loudly, bringing the two boys back to their conversation.
It took Soobin a moment to process her words.
