"WAIT WAIT WHAT?!?!?"

"Thank god I chose the most deserted area in the playground," Juhyeok replied, uncovering his ears.

Yerim stared at her best friend, flabbergasted. 

"Your dad and Mr Choi are together?!"

"Mhm."

"As in, they're a couple?!"

"Mhm."

"So that means: you have two parents now?"

"Yes."

Jinsong gawked at the two of them, confusion etched all over his perplexed face.

"Am I missing something here?!"

"Like what?" Juhyeok asked.

Yerim slapped her forehead.

"Riiiiight. Jinsong doesn't know," she realized.

"Know what?!"

"That my mom died when I was born, my dad raised me since then on his own, and now I have a second parent that happens to be Mr Choi, our librarian?"

Jinsong stared at Juhyeok.

"WHAT?!"

Juhyeok gave him an apologetic look.

"Yeah... I definitely forgot to mention it to you."

Jinsong faced his cousin.

"And you knew?!"

"Yup."

"Why'd you never tell me?!"

Yerim shrugged.

"Slipped my mind."

Jinsong pouted, feeling left out.

"Wow... am I the leftover in our group— OOF!"

Before he could say another word, Juhyeok stormed forward and hugged Jinsong tightly, while Yerim gave him a chestnut on the head.

"Nooo!! I genuinely forgot that I never told you; believe me, so much has happened that I lost track of time," Juhyeok said.

"As IF I could get rid of you," Yerim rolled her eyes.

Juhyeok let out a choked laugh.

"Yep, these are my best friends."

He tousled Juhyeok's hair.

"Congrats though! Mr Choi is awesome."

"Agreed."

Then the bell rang, and the students ran off to return to class.

Unbeknownst to the person watching them behind the bushes, face twisted in discorn.

"I wonder what we'll learn in social studies today," Yerim said.

"You're always curious about things," Juhyeok replied.

"Well... I suppose you're right."

Juhyeok giggled.

But that faded when he saw a piece of paper taped to his desk. He instantly tore it off and read what it said in bold letters: Son of a f*ggot

That word made Juhyeok visibly flinch. Taehyun had told him what it meant, so he knew it wasn't anything good.

"Juju? What is that?"

Juhyeok tried to hide the paper, but Yerim snatched it away and read it. Her eyes morphed wide open with shock.

She stood up.
