"This is not working" Mary said as she stopped me from playing the piano.
"What do you mean?" I retreated my hands and she closed the lid.
"The feeling you're giving me when playing... It's not a happy one, you know? It feels like you're playing only when you're feeling sad or painful and stuff like that."
I sighed: "I can't keep secretes away from you, can I?" she gave me a half smile half chuckle thing.
"What am I gonna do... Happy song, happy song..."she looked at the ceiling while thinking, then suddenly her face lit up:
"It might be crazy what I'm about to say
Sunshine she's here, you can take a break
I'm a hot air balloon that could go to space
With the air, like I don't care, baby by the way...
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do
Here come bad news, talking this and that
Yeah!
Give me all you've got, no holding back
Yeah!
But I should probably warn you I'll be just fine
No offense to you, don't waste your time
Here's why" She stopped because she couldn't hold her laugh back anymore.
"O my God, this feels so stupid! I never sang this in front of anyone else!"
"I can understand that." I said, chuckling to myself.
"But it worked."
"Maybe."
"What else should I do for you?"
"Just be Mary. That's all I need."
