Nothing new really happened for the following... dunno, till summer.

It was our graduation party. The gym was full of sparkly decorations, young graduates and teachers, loud music and weird dancing, and food. And Mary.

She was wearing a stunning black dress which seemed a bit too loose for her, and a bit revealing, and some very, very high heels. She looked different with her hair tied up in a messy bun, and a lot of make up. She definitely wanted to be something else that night. When I got pretty tired of having fun, I dragged her outside.

"What happened?" she asked.

"Let's go home."

"No! I want to see the fireworks show!"

"You can see it from anywhere."

"Fine. Take me somewhere where I can see them."

She took off her shoes and I could see pink flesh.

"Why are you wearing those?!"

"Because they're so pretty!"

"They're not pretty at all if they destroy your feet!"

"I know, I know, don't yell at me."

She tried to walk to the parking lot with the shoes in her hand, but just seeing her was painful. I took her and princess-carried her to the car, I put her on the other seat while I sat on the driver's.

"I didn't know you can drive" she said.

"You never let me drive."

"I love to drive."

"Me too" and she shut up for the time.

"Should I take you home first?"

"No. Take me somewhere where I can enjoy the fireworks show!"

So I drove on, without exchanging any other word. She's definitely mad at me for taking her from the party.

We passed our houses and went deeper in the neighborhood, until we eventually got out of the town, on a hill. When we reached the peak, he stopped and got out of the car, took me again in his arms and placed me on the the car.

He gently kissed me, then leaned on the front of the car with me. I'm glad I clean the car every week.

"It's going to start soon" he says, then shut up until the first firework made its way in the sky, then exploded in a game of colors. It was beautifully followed by another seventy, the booms rhythmically making a concert on the dark sky of June.

Arthur put his arm on my shoulders.

"Aren't you cold?"

"I am, a bit. But your presence warms me up."

I could hear him smile and kiss my hair, then embrace me with both arms. I rested my head in the place between his collar bones and closed my eyes to enjoy the moment.

"I love the fact that you close your eyes every time we kiss" he stated.

"Really? I think I do it unconsciously" he nodded.

"I love that you sing your heart out even if you don't have the greatest voice or audience."

"You don't like my voice?"

"I do, when you talk. Your voice is very calm and deep, like my mother's."

"Everyone says that. I don't really think so."

"I love that you're so innocent sometimes and that you haven't dated anyone else besides me."

"But I had many crushes before."

"I'd love to listen to your stories one day. But not now. I love that you're such a great story-teller and writer. Your stories really make me take a break from thinking rationally and never bore me. You're so creative."

"Well, I won't deny that" I laughed.

"I like that you're personality changes so drastically at times, like in a minute you're all goody and jolly, the other minute you're Cruella De'Vill, and then you're the angel, then Rapunzel."

"I don't think I reach them so easily."

"I love that you're very friendly, and never afraid."

"I'm afraid of so many things."

"You never showed any sign of weakness. I wish I could see you scared and tugging my shirt and hiding behind me sometimes."

"I can't do that. That's not my character."

"Your brother said that you're very adorable, like asking him to turn on the oven because you don't want to get burnt..."

"When did you speak to my brother?"

"That's another story. I love that you love many things and you're never afraid to show it."

"I don't love that many things... But I love you."
