DESTROY THEM.

Hadrian had heard those words often enough that they shocked him out of his paralysis. He grabbed his bow from where it had fallen next to him and yelled, "Percy!"

He snatched up Riptide.

Monsters came after them like tsunami waves. Hadrian was aware of a tingling sensation wraping around him, like the death mist, but something he could control. He saw the monsters barreling past him like he was invisible to them.

One look at his arm- or lack there of, convinced him he really was invisible. For a brief moment, he panicked. Did this mean he was dying? turning into smoke?

He willed himself to turn visible. One monster nearly chopped his head off.

Invisible it is.

Hadrian aimed for the chains holding the Doors of Death. His drakon-bone arrow cut through the left-side moorings in such a clean single shot, he couldn't believe his eyes. They never had good luck, what the hell was this?

Meanwhile, Percy drove back the first wave of monsters. He stabbed an arai and yelped, "Gah! Stupid curses!" Then he scythed down a half dozen telkhines.

He paused long enough to go to the demigod and slash through their bonds. Hadrian was too far away to run towards Kira, but he almost cried from joy. He watched Percy toss them the bow and quiver and despite looking dead, she managed a wink and a smile.

Hadrian turned visible. Whatever this new power was, he'd deal with it later.

"Looking good, Hads" They yelled over the roar of the monsters, "Who's your boyfriend?"

"Not my boyfriend" Hadrian couldn't help the laugh that bubbled out of him. They were in Tartarus, he'd been tortured endlessly, Percy had almost died, Percy had almost kissed him and his best friend was here— not alive exactly, but here nonetheless. Also, there was a slight problem of the Primordial Tartarus, but Hadrian focused on his task.

Hadrian aimed at the chains on the other side, firing another arrow. Which only left him with one. The chains gave out like they'd been waiting to be cut.

The Doors shuddered, then opened with a pleasant Ding!

Bob and his saber-toothed sidekick continued to weave around Tartarus's legs, attacking, and dodging to stay out of his clutches. They didn't seem to be doing much damage, but Tartarus lurched around, obviously not used to fighting in a humanoid body. He swiped and missed, swiped and missed.

Kira and Percy fought like a dangerous duo and Hadrian couldn't help his gaze turning towards them continuously. The two people he loved so fucking much, and they were barely a stone's throw away. He wasn't going  to lose them— no.

Hadrian turned invisible again. If the monsters couldn't see him, they couldn't kill him. He turned and completely on instinct, shot his last arrow through the gut of an empousa, then dove for the Doors as they started to close.

He kept the doors open with his foot as he fought. At least with his back to the elevator car, he didn't have to worry about attacks from behind. He shot arrow after arrow. Monsters fell like dominoes and Hadrian had never felt more alive.

His blood rushed through his veins, his brain yelled at him for going too fast, and his fingertips hurt like he'd been practicing guitar. But oh gods, he enjoyed feeling so alive in the belly of a monster- a primordial.

Then he thought. Wait. I had three arrows. How the fuck-

He kept shooting. Drakon bone arrows kept appearing in his quiver. Hadrian wasn't sure what type of magic Damasen had coated the arrows with, but it was quite obvious by now that the arrows magically came back to him like Riptide. Ooh, he could work with that.
