Hadrian thought Annabeth was going to murder them when they revealed they had kidnapped the goddess.

"Are you—" Annabeth was at a loss for words, "You can't be- How- why? I- I'm never letting any one of you out of my sight. Hera said subdue, not kidnap-"

Thankfully, Jason intervened and told them all to go get cleaned up or there really would have been bloodshed.

Hadrian kept his gaze averted, he genuinely couldn't handle eye contact with Percy, definitely not now. But he noticed the way his green eyes latched onto his left wrist where the sun tattoo was. He'd noticed immediately.

After they all disbanded, Hadrian had eaten a piece of ambrosia and the dull throb of pain vanished from his hand. He really should have asked Will Solace about special demigod aftercare. He'd seen the tattoo Will had gotten, he wondered if ambrosia was enough.

Later, they all gathered in the mess hall and traded stories. Hadrian wished he could go on a quest again soon. Just staying on the ship was boring and without any self-control, he would probably go to get another tattoo if he was left behind again. Maybe Annabeth had been right to be wary, Hadrian wasn't exactly known for thinking things through.

He watched all his friends together and couldn't help but feel like whatever made them whole— was missing from him.

Leo asked for a song suggestion and Hadrian almost blurted- Wasteland, baby.

Thankfully, he had enough sense to shove a spoonful of soup in his mouth to shut himself up. Still, he couldn't help the way his eyes found Percy. He couldn't help the way he couldn't look away.

Percy Jackson was fucking magnetic.

The four took turns telling them about how Nike had wanted them to fight each other, about how right Annabeth was, (Hadrian frowned when Percy praised her), about how Leo had promoted Adidas to make her appear, and the fight that ensued. Frank had mentioned something about finding his cousins so that was the next stop, but Hadrian couldn't care less about it.

Finally, the conversation turned to him.

"Did you get a tattoo?" Frank blinked.

"No, Zhang, Jason drew it on me" Frank did not get the sarcasm, "Yes, it's a tattoo" He clarified.

"I like it" Leo proclaimed as he ate another taco, "You should get a whole sleeve, you'd look badass"

"I think Annabeth will ground me if I try to get more," He pouted at her and gave her two flying kisses.

"You should get a heart" Hazel suggested, "Like your birthmark"

Percy genuinely, honest to gods, flinched. Hadrian didn't understand why.

"It does look like a heart right?" Hadrian discreetly pushed his plate away and leaned back in his chair. He exposed the left side of his neck, touching the slightly darker skin there. "Kira used to tell me it looks like the poop emoji"

Chuckles broke out at that.

Festus creaked over the speakers and Hadrian had never understood how Leo could speak to the dragon, But when the announcement ended, Leo turned back to the others and clapped his hands together.

"According to Festus, we should reach Pylos by morning. I still have to work repairs so we'll leave here in a few hours." He ate another taco and continued, "All of you report to Captain Chase for your awesome chore chart"

"It's not a chart" Annabeth argued, "I just figured out a schedule, of course, things can go sideways at any time, but it makes me feel better to feel like we're doing something right"
