Normal.
Hadrian didn't know how to adjust to normal.
He didn't exactly have a cabin at camp and everytime he suggested breaking the rules and just sneaking into Percy's cabin, Percy looked around to check for Chiron like a red handed criminal.
He may have the looks for a troublemaker, but Percy was terrified to break the rules of camp now that they were no longer on the Argo II.
"He's not going to skin you alive if I spend one night in your cabin" Hadrian laughed. "And besides, the Hermes cabin is terrifying to sleep in. What if they steal my makeup from my bag?"
"Can't have that" Percy agreed. They were sitting at the hearth in the middle of the commons. Percy was looking at him with such fondness in his eyes, Hadrian thought he might just die. "You're pretty with and without makeup, but holy shit you're jaw dropping with eyeliner"
From anyone else, Hadrian would have laughed and made a joke about knowing how hot he was. But this was Percy so he bit his lip and tried not to blush.
"Your hair is pink" Percy muttered as Hadrian buried his face into the crook of Percy's neck.
"I hate you so much"
"Sure you do, love"
"So, what's the plan now?" Hadrian asked, pulling away. "I mean... after we go to see your mom"
They didn't have much in terms of concrete plans. But Hadrian had some idea about what he was going to do.
Firstly, Percy had given him a tour of camp, not that it was necessary since Hadrian had been there for four months before going on the Argo II. But it was magical to see the place from Percy's perspective.
Percy talked a lot about things he loved. He told Hadrian where he'd fallen on his butt during Capture the flag, where he'd got his ass whooped in sword fighting in the arena, where the horses taught him three curse words.
Then Percy talked to all the campers. Even though there were close to hundred or more, Percy seemed to know almost all of them by name. They stopped to chat, exchanged pleasantries and then congratulated each other on the battle and the quest.
Then Percy would slip his hand into Hadrian's and no matter who they were talking to, he'd steer the conversation toward Hadrian.
"And this is my boyfriend, by the way" Percy grinned, "Hadrian, he's a son of Eros- His hair changes color! And he's amazing at archery! and- and- and-"
Until Hadrian would have to shut him up and pull him away just so he wouldn't bore the campers.
He knew they were going to Percy's mom's place that day, and just the thought of it made anxiety pool in his stomach. He'd only heard of Sally Jackson in stories from Annabeth and Percy. But to actually meet her?
He had a million questions.
What should he wear? What should he bring? What should he say when greeting her? Would she be homophobic? Would she disapprove of Percy being with him? Would she blame Hadrian for dragging her son through Tartarus? Would she be angry? sad? confused? happy?
"She's going to love you" Percy interrupted his thoughts. "Because I love you. And my mom is awesome, you'll see. Don't worry about it"
He squeezed Hadrian's arm.
"What next?" Hadrian asked instead. "After everything... I mean... long term"
"Well I hope you put up with me long enough for us to go long term" Percy said which made Hadrian punch his shoulder.
