Today marks the end of a massive era for AlphaTauri. The team aren't losing 1 but 2 drivers. AlphaTauri are losing Jessica McCabe, who is going to be joining McLaren, and Pierre Gasly, who's going to be joining Alpine for the 2023 season. The team at AlphaTauri were holding a massive celebration and farewell party for Jess and Pierre, who have been nothing but close if not best friends for the last 6 years. The party was in full swing and it was time for Jessica and Pierre to make their final speeches for the team.

"Friends and Colleagues,

As the 2022 season comes to a close, I wanted to take a moment to say goodbye to the incredible team at Alphatauri. This team has been my home since 2017 when we were then known as Toro Rosso, and it's hard to put into words what this team and the people in it have meant to me.

My time here has been full of so many wonderful moments and memories, but there are two that really stand out for me. The first, of course, is the historic 1-2 finish at Monza in 2020. To see both Pierre and I on the podium together was such an unforgettable and emotional moment. It's something that we will always share, and it's a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire team.

The second moment is one that will always hold a special place in my heart, and that is my first-place podium on this team. It was my first win ever in Formula One, and to do it alongside my best friend and teammate Pierre made it even sweeter. That moment was pure magic, and I will always look back on it with great joy and pride.

But it's not just the big moments that have made this team so special to me. It's the countless hours spent in the garage with the engineers and mechanics, the countless conversations with my teammates about strategy and racing, and the countless laughs with everyone on the team.

I am so grateful for every person here at Alphatauri who has supported me, challenged me, and pushed me to be the best driver I could be. You are all what makes this team truly exceptional. And Pierre. We have been through so much together, and I will always cherish the memories we have made on and off the track so far.

As I move on to my next chapter with McLaren, I will take the memories, experiences, and lessons I learned here with me. But most importantly, I will take the friendships and relationships I have built here with me.

As I prepare to leave, I want to thank everyone on the team for their support and friendship over the years. It has been an honor to work alongside such talented and dedicated individuals, and I will always be grateful for the experiences and lessons that I have learned here. Thank you to everyone at Alphatauri for making these past few years of my career truly unforgettable.

With heartfelt thanks and best wishes" Jessica cries as she finishes her speech and Pierre wraps his arms around the girl. "I'll miss you." Pierre whispers, pecking the top of the girl's head as she wraps her arms around his waist. "I'll miss you aswell." Jessica mutters as Pierre now prepares for his speech.

"As I stand before you today, I cannot help but feel a mix of emotions. On one hand, I am excited about the new chapter that awaits me at Alpine. But on the other hand, I am sad to be leaving the team that has been my home for the past six years.

When I joined Toro Rosso, now AlphaTauri, in 2017 alongside Jess, I was a young driver with a lot to prove. But the team believed in me, and together we achieved some incredible results. I will always be grateful for the opportunity you gave me to showcase my talent and grow as a driver.

I am also grateful for the memories I have made with my teammate and best friend, Jessica McCabe. Jess, you have been my rock on and off the track, and I will miss our banter and jokes in the garage. I wish you all the best at McLaren, and I know you will continue to make us proud.

But perhaps the memory that will stay with me forever is our 1-2 victory in Monza last year. It was a moment that I will never forget, and one that I will always cherish. It was a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone in the team, and I am proud to have been a part of it.

As I prepare to leave AlphaTauri, I want to thank each and every one of you for the support and encouragement you have given me over the years. You have made me feel like a part of the family, and I will never forget that.

I leave with a heavy heart, but also with the knowledge that I have grown so much as a driver and as a person during my time here. I will always be grateful for the memories, and I wish the team all the best for the future.

Thank you, AlphaTauri, for everything."

As Pierre finished, Max and Checo walk up to the pair and the four all share a long hug. "You two have been amazing this season. Youse will be missed on this team." Max says, Jess to one side of him and Pierre to the other. "I'm going to miss this." Jessica says. "We'll all still
see each other on track but you two wearing different colours." Checo jokes as they all chuckle.

"It's going to be weird seeing you two in orange and pink." Max chuckles referring to Jessica joining McLaren and Pierre joining Alpine. The two now-former AlphaTauri drivers chuckle aswell as the four pulled from their hug. "I've never cried so much in one day than I have today." Jess laughs, wiping her tears. It has been an emotional season for both Pierre and Jessica. Tears falling race after race. "Lets celebrate before I cry even more." Jess laughs.

The four seperate from their hug and begin to enjoy the end-of-season celebrations. Drinks were flowing and music was playing loudly as everyone at redbull and alphatauri as well as the other drivers celebrated Max's second world championship and Sebastian's retirement from motorsport.

"It's going to be weird not being teammates." Pierre says, sitting beside Jess. "It will be. I don't think I would have survived these past 6 years in Formula 1 if I didn't have a teammate like you. We're still going to be close right?" Jess asked. That was her main fear. Getting close to someone and losing them. It happened with Anthoine and Jules as well as her dad and brothers. She didn't want to lose her friendship with Pierre.

"Jess, you're my best friend and I'm yours. You're not losing me. We've been through so much already. From both of us losing Anthoine and Jules to me supporting you when you lost your dad and brothers. We're each others rocks." Pierre says, placing his arm around Jessica's shoulder and she leans her head against him. "What did I do to deserve you in my life?" she chuckles. "I don't know but I wouldn't change it." Pierre smiles, gently rubbing Jess' arm.

"Come on. Come have some fun." Pierre says, taking Jess' hand and dragging her to the dance floor. The whole night was filled with joy and laughter. As everyone headed back to their hotels, Pierre and Jessica headed back together, still laughing about every memory they have from their last six years as teammates which blossomed into them being best friends. The pair head up to the rooms and tightly hugged. "Night Jess." Pierre muttered into the girls hair. "Night Pierre." Jess mutters into his chest before they pull and head into the rooms.

A/N: here it is! my second f1 book. I'm very excited for this one and praying it does as well as "Style" which I am very proud of considering it was my first F1 book. It's race weekend and there was no coincidence in my Max one ending on his home race and this one starting on the weekend of the Italian Grand Prix.

To summarize my take on last week, no shock with Max taking P1. Fernando getting P2, I was really happy for him. But the driver I was most happy for was Pierre, getting P3. I had never been happier to see Pierre on podium following his P3 in Azerbaijan 2021. And of course, I had to do Daniel Ric's infamous "Pieeeeeeeeeeere Gaslyyyyyyyyyyy". However, I was really gutted for Logan. Getting into Q3 then DNFing but starting P10 is some achievement. Hopefully he can do well this weekend and secure a seat next season 🤞🏼.
