We were flying to the location of the base, finally ready to make our move. I sat thinking about the day before in an interaction with Steve. We had been sparring and something he said to me about Chibbs had set me off. Suddenly our sparring match turned into a fight. I began releasing my anger out on to him and by the time Jamie could get me pulled off I had left his face bloody. Jamie helped Chibbs get me back to our room and left to go find Steve while Chibbs cleaned my hands off. Other than my bruising knuckles I was fine, the blood from Steve's face. Steve had come to find me later that night while I was sitting with Chibbs in front of a fire. Chibbs left us alone but shooting Steve a warning look. "I'm sorry," he said finally after sitting in a chair next to me. I looked at Steve as he hung his head low, "So am I." He looked at me confused, not understanding why I was apologizing. "No matter what happened, its not fair to you that she used you like she did," I said and I could see tears start to fill his eyes. He talked for a little bit longer before he left and you could feel the tension no longer there between us. I glanced up and found Steve giving me a small smile as he watched how Chibbs held my hand and stroked it with his thumb. Clint called out a two minute warning and we all got up and ready for the next part of the plan. Everyone stood gathered around me and as I pulled the necklace from my neck. I stared at it for a moment, taking in the familiar glow. "You ready?" Steve said, making me look up at him. "No," I replied but took the necklace and threw it down on the floor of the jet, watching it shatter so easily. Everyone watched as the tendrils of magic flowed out of it and all seemed to connect to me. Chibbs watched as my eyes closed and my breathing grew heavy. A single tear fell as I began to feel Loki within it, knowing a piece of him was still attached and with me. My eyes snapped open and glowed in an green light as I felt the surge of power as the magic took hold. I gasped feeling it flow throughout my whole body and start to emanate from within me. I watched Chibbs mouth the word beautiful as he gazed at me, then turning to Steve I nodded before conjuring the illusion of me that would follow them in. Everyone watched as the Illusion of me walked out of the Jet with the portion of the team that was going to head inside. Chibbs looked back and saw Wanda watching me with worry as I focused on what I was doing. "Ya look worried Lass," he said watching me as he stood next to Wanda. When she didn't answer he looked to her and could see her battle it out with what to say. "I feel like she's hiding something, normally she would let me into her mind, but since yesterday I haven't been able to hear her," Wanda said looking to him now. He looked back at me worried that I hadn't told them everything. Wanda noticed a change in my hands and the tips of my hair and looked confused before realization hit. She knew I wouldn't be able to hold this long with out it cause damage to me. My body wasn't meant to be able to handle this amount of energy and power, but with the serum I was bought time. Wanda remained silent, knowing I hadn't mentioned this before for a reason.
Quickly the guards watching the exterior of the base picked up we were here and began trying to stop us from getting in. After some time one guard finally recognized and I watched him run inside the base. I turned to look at Steve and nodded signaling it was time. Jamie, Steve, and I followed the man into the base after giving him a head start so he would have time to notify the leaders I was here. This would cause them to become distracted with trying to figure out a way to capture me. When we caught up we were faced with some of the heads of the organization and one face I knew we would find here. Sharon stood glaring before smacking the man and cursing him for leading us to them. "Its over Sharon, give up and you may at least be spared your life," I said knowing she probably wasn't walking out of here today. She laughed before shaking her head and pacing. The sons and Wanda were startled when they heard me spoke not prepared that we had found them so fast. Chibbs watched me carefully as they waited for me to speak again and give them a hint of what was happening. Suddenly Jax jumped to his feet with the others as they heard people coming towards them. A fight started inside as one began outside of the jet, the sons and Wanda doing everything to protect me and themselves. Steve, Jamie, and I took on Hydra's people as Sharon just stood back watching. No one touched me which worked out so that I could maintain the illusion until I got distracted by Jamie and Steve both being taken down. One of the ones we were fighting took this chance to tackle me, but fell to the ground as my illusion disappeared. I screamed out no as I came back to my body and to the scene of the people I loved fighting against the people who had come to try and kill them. My anger swelled at the thought that Jamie would be captured again and I felt a fresh surge of power. Almost as if on the wind I heard a whisper of something and felt a comfort wash over me. I launched myself out of the back flying into the enemy and knocking them all down. I heard Chibbs yell as he watched me fly off, but I couldn't think about him now. I made my way up to the center of where the base lay and hovered just above the peak. I sent a thought to Wanda before closing my eyes and feeling my power surge up more. Tendrils slipped from me as I surrounded all of the team and the sons in the energy like a shield. I took the com from my ear, hearing Jamie yelling when he finally realized what I was doing. I hadn't known that Loki had warned him when he gave me the necklace. Jamie didn't honestly think I would do it, but from what he was witnessing he was wrong. Sharon looked around scared and Steve smirked as he yelled at her. "Did you really think she didn't have a plan and a back up plan at that," he asked rhetorically as he felt my power surround him and lift him off the ground. I used the power to pull both Steve and Jamie out from the base as I continued to build more power. I could feel my body beginning to get weaker when I saw Loki's face in front of me. "Let go love," he whispered from where he was, but it sounded clear as day to me.
I closed my eyes and just as the power began to peak I let it out with a scream. Power exploded from me like a bomb and everything in its path was turned to rubble and ash. I let it consume everything and just as I felt it reach the end of the base, my body gave out. I fell from the air and could hear the yells of everyone below me as they watched. Sam quickly launched in the air flying up to catch me before I would hit the ground. Everyone could see the sad look on his face as he lowered to the ground with me and carefully laid me down. Chibbs was instantly at my side with Jax as they checked for a pulse. When they found none they acted quick and started CPR as Steve radioed in they needed medical now. Jax kept up with compressions only stopping when Chibbs went to breath air into my lungs. After several tries and still waiting on the med evac, Chibbs blew in another breath before yelling at me to wake up. Jax went back to compressions but when Jamie placed a hand on his shoulder he stopped when Jamie shook his head. Chibbs leaned down and started whispering in my ear. "You can't go Lass, you and I are just getting started, you can't leave me now," he said fighting to hold in the cries that were building up, "I still have to marry ya, Lass, ya can't leave before I do that." He leaned back up and placed his hand on the back of my neck, lifting my head up. "Now WAKE UP!" he yelled and no one could explain it, but I gasped and sucked air back into my lungs. My eyes sprung open and instantly landed on Chibbs with a smile growing on my face. He kissed me as the tears fell in relief and everyone started cheering as Steve radioed that I was awake and breathing. Once we pulled apart Chibbs laid his forehead against mine and I kept my eyes on him smiling. "Yes," I said somehow hearing him when he said he needed to marry me still. He looked at me confused but when he went to ask I continued. "Yes, I'll marry ya," I said smiling bigger at him and watched as a smile spread across his face. He kissed me deeper as the med vac landed near us before picking me up from the rubble and carrying me to it. The medical team, now led by Bruce, began running checks on me as we took off in the air to see the extent of my injuries. Neither of us noticed the look Bruce had as he was running an ultrasound over my body looking for any internal injuries. Once we landed back at the compound, Bruce had me taken to the medical wing so he could finish running some tests before clearing me. "Bruce is all this really necessary, I feel fine," I said trying to avoid having to spend a day in the medical wing. He simply ignored me and told Chibbs to go ahead and get cleaned up he was just doing final checks on me. Chibbs nodded and gave me a look that said to stay where I was before heading out with everyone else to go get cleaned up and patched up where needed.
I laid there compliantly knowing better than to try. If I fought it I would just end up here longer than I wanted to be. Hours passed and Chibbs came back with Jamie and Jax to see how I was doing. Bruce walked out as they came in and they noticed me sitting there with a stunned look on my face. I couldn't believe what he had told me, it was supposed to be impossible now, like literally no way. Chibbs sat next to me taking my hand and noticing something sitting on the tray next to the table. "Everything ok sis," Jax asked as he sat on the bed by my feet and Jamie stayed standing. I looked up at Chibbs, knowing when it would have happened, but not understanding until the dream of loki came back to me and the way he had held my stomach, just now remember the green flow of magic I didn't pay attention to at first as I was so used to seeing that happening with him. A tear fell as I grabbed the picture Bruce had printed for me and handed it to Chibbs. His eyes went wide when he figured out what he was looking at then then something from his own dream came to the forefront of her mind. "It seems the gods will not be so cruel to her a second time, look after them," he had said before disappearing from the dream. He looked back up at me now with his own tears and pulled me into a kiss filling it with all his love for me. "Care to fill us in guys?" Jamie asked trying to remind us that they were still in the room. I nodded to Chibbs as we pulled apart and he handed the picture to Jax who instantly recognized what it was, Jamie smiled down at it before moving to me and kissing my forehead before moving back to Jax's side to continue looking at it.
