I woke to the sounds of people moving about Teller Morrow. I could smell the aroma of coffee as I slowly stretched. I slowly sat up, peeling my eyes open, not really wanting to get up yet. As I looked around I realized I wasn't in my room, but just as panic started to fill me my eyes fell on the man sleeping still on a couch. I smiled as I sighed quietly, grateful it was Chibbs laying there next to me. The few days I had been back he had been the only one who hadn't tried to question me about where I had been. The memories of the past week started flooding back and I could feel the residual emotion hitting like a freight train. I made my way to the bathroom and quickly started the shower. Just as I submerged myself in the scalding water I let go. Silently, I sobbed not able to contain the pain that left me aching. I ended up staying long enough for the water to grow cold and finally calmed myself before getting out and wrapping a towel around me. I couldn't hear Chibbs snoring anymore so I poked my head out and saw the room empty. As I stepped out I saw a pair of sweatpants and a black hoodie laying on the bed with a note. I picked up the note and read it, smiling ear to ear.Lass,
Didn't feel right getting into your clothes. You can wear this until you can change.Chibbs
I set the note back down before dropping my towel, avoiding the mirror as I quickly put on the sweats and hoodie. I was enveloped in his scent, musky with a woodiness to it. I closed my eyes as I took it in and made my way to the door. I snagged my brush out of my room but decided to stay in the clothes I had on, as I made my way out to the bar area. Mom made me a coffee and set it in front of me. I could hear the boys talking around me and I as lifted my arms to try and brush my hair I winced sucking air in through my teeth. "You ok baby?" Mom asked making everyone go quiet with the concern in her voice. I nodded cursing myself for giving away that clearly I had been hurt while away. I didn't hear anyone come up behind me and jumped a little when I felt the brush taken from my hand. "S'alrigh Lass I got it," Chibbs said quietly. I stilled and began sipping my coffee as Chibbs worked through the tangles in my hair. Everyone went back to their conversations, all except Jax. He watched as I slowly relaxed almost leaning back into Chibbs, as he slowly brushed out my hair. I hadn't known Yelena and Jamie had stayed for a couple days to make sure I was ok and settled, but they sat at a table not far from me. My mom noticed them both smiling at me and whispering in Russian and when she looked at me my eyes were closed as Chibbs worked my hair into dutch braids. She noticed how content and at peace I looked and smiled before continuing to work on her duties.
Once he was done he kissed my head without thinking before moving to continue in the conversations around us. I sighed contentedly not noticing Jamie and Yelena move next to me on either side. It didn't go unnoticed by everyone but me the Jamie stood next to me protectively. To most it would appear as if something was going on between us but it wasn't. Jamie had become like a brother to me and I a sister to him. He protected me and saved me more than anyone else had and any time I had been hurt he nearly always blamed himself for it. Yelena nudged me before sipping her own coffee giving me a look. It hit me what had just happened and I blushed scarlett before quickly drinking my coffee and clearing my throat. "When are you guys leaving?" I asked quickly avoiding questions I knew Yelena wouldn't hesitate to ask. My mom quietly chuckled as she listened in, instantly recognizing what I was doing. She may not have wanted me to end up with a son, but as she thought about she was ok with Chibbs. Jax made his way over to us and settled in next to Jamie, noting how Chibbs seemed to have his gaze set on me. Jax sighed and came to the same conclusion as his mom and realized quick out of everyone Chibbs definitely wasn't the worst choice.
