Vigor Kinsteel's POV:
Unable to believe at what he was watching, Arthur's jaw hung loose. At this point, I better started explaining:
"This is my bloodline's unique deviant, and no, I'm not half-dwarf. My Kinsteel ancestors awakened this deviant for a long time ago and it was passed down in the blood through generations,", I dispelled the deviant on Tormentor, the translucent teal color of Dawn's Ballad slowly faded away from the spear's blade. I put back my gloves, guantlet and wore my trustworthy helm.
I conjured a simple shard of stone on my palm and wielded the Dawn's Ballad's metal properties into it. The result was the same when I did to Tormentor, the stone's color shifted into teal. But then, the teal metal piece fell down into my palm as I lost control of it.
"This deviant's ability is to transform one mineral or alloy to another. You guess it, we can even turn a bunch of gravels into any precious metals: mythril, gold, silver and become millionaire if we want, buuuut that will kinda causing inflation. The main point is, we can't manipulate metals like dwarves, but rather creating them from other materials. To be simple, just call it metal deviant."
"Wait....Kinsteel.", Arthur noticed again at my surname.
"Yea, Kinsteel.", I rolled my eyes, remembering back 2 years ago when my father explained about my family's history.
"Your family took it literally I guess---", Arthur with a sarcastic tone but suddenly he stopped mid sentence as he felt something's wrong.
Bringing my mana sensation back on track, I sensed several individuals with mana cores approaching the storage room as well.
"We have to get out of here!", Arthur said, almost yelled.
Putting the last Superior mana potion I had and Tormentor back in my ring and carried three emptied potion I used earlier, not wanting to leaving any evidence left behind, I frantically rushed at the nearest window and smashed it with my fist, making a loud glass breaking sound.
"What the--"
"Now's not the time. And no way I'm going to waste my last expensive potion.", I interrupted a very annoyed Arthur, I was very close to backlashing my own core at the moment.
With some little mana left, I conjured a tiny earth barrier at the door which probably would dissipate after a minute. It would hold the guards for a bit. I jumped through the window and got outside.
*Huff* *Huff* *Huff* *Huff*, breathing heavily like an old man having heart attack, I ran far away from the Auction House. Turning my head back, I saw Arthur holding Dawn's Ballad and Sylvie were following me as well.
We returned back to the alley.
"Then what about the "light magic " you just did?", Arthur's perplexed reaction didn't stop yet.
"It was the process to study a material's properties of my deviant. Once my mana "synchronized" with Dawn's Ballad's metal perfectly, I can gaze into its atomic structure and from that, my brain memorized every detail to recreate that very same metal. The reason why my mana morphed into light during the process? I absolutely have no fucking idea, neither does my father, it's still one of my family's biggest mysteries till date. Nevertheless, another part of the plan finished.", I grinned with the shard made of Dawn's Ballad metal in my hand whilst Arthur looking at me with disbelief.
"*Sigh*, wanna know why earlier I protested against being a racist? That's because in the past, my Kinsteel ancestors were discriminated by other people after they revealed their deviant. Everyone put allegations on them for being dwarves, only because they created metals, something that "human mages weren't supposed to do, it's must be a dwarven magic"." I said with a sarcastic tone.
