Chapter 2:
I woke up at 6:30 which was strange for me since I'm not a morning person. I was about to go back to sleep but decided against it. I grabbed a towel and made my way into the shower. After a half-hour of taking a warm shower, I finally got out.
I went to my walk in closet and picked out my outfit. I chose to wear a white collar, dark blue jeans and black and white converse. I topped it off with a jean jacket and the butterfly necklace that my dad got me a few Christmases ago. I headed downstairs and saw my mom in the kitchen making breakfast. I checked the time and it was 7:08. I had until 7:30 to eat and wait for a ride from Crystal.
"Good morning, mom," I said in a cheery tone.
"Good morning sweetie. Would you mind setting the table and calling your sister down?"
"Not at all."
I got out 4 plates and forks and neatly placed them on the table. Then I went upstairs to get my older sister, Katilyn. I knocked on her door and when I didn't get a reply I opened the door and walked in. Katilyn was wrapped in a towel and applying some make up on. She must've been frightened by the noise I made when I came in because when she turned her face half of it was covered in red lipstick.
"Didn't I tell you to knock before you enter?" Katilyn scolded me.
"I did knock and you didn't answer," I stated, rolling my eyes in the process.
Katilyn and I love each other massively but sometimes she could be a little stubborn and irritating. She's not the biggest morning person either so that explains why she's being so catty towards me. She could say some pretty hurtful things when she's tired and people bug her but I have to love her. After all she is my only sister.
"Mom wants you downstairs for breakfast," I said.
"Alright I'll be down in about three minutes."
I fled from her room and went downstairs to find my dad was already in his seated in his favorite chair, reading the newspaper and drinking orange juice. My dad was tall with dark hair and a clean shave.
"Good Morning, dad."
He acknowledged my presence with a small grunt. He was obviously in a bad mood. No one in my family is really a morning person but my mother. Suddenly, I heard the beep of a car horn and I immediately knew who it was. I grabbed my bag, a blueberry pop-tart, and started heading for the door.
"Bye, Mom and dad!" I yelled.
I ran outside and got inside of Crystal's convertible.
"What's up." I greeted.
"You ready?"
I buckled in and gave her a beaming smile at her.
"Yup" I said popping the 'p'.
Then she drove off to the school. I lowered down the window and enjoyed the cool breeze rustling my hair. I nibbled on my pop-tart once I realized it was still in my hand.
This is a great way to start a morning, I thought to myself.

When we arrived Crystal went to her first period: chemistry. I had Global History. As I made my way down the hallway I looked around. There were couples making out at lockers, straight-A students hurrying to their classes, and a few jocks teasing and laughing with Harvey Matthews, one of my only friends. After the Jocks left, I smiled at him and waved. He was cool and smart once you got to know him.
I didn't realize that I was staring off into space again until I tripped over god knows what and landed straight into someone's arms. My books went flying everywhere and I scrambled out of the stranger's arms to pick up the books. He bent over and helped me pick up a few of them.
