Chapter Twenty-Eight
If you're lost you can look
and you will find me
Time after time
If you fall, I will catch you,
I'll be waiting

"Gamora asked Quill to kill her," Drax stated nonchalantly.
Beth and Mantis looked up from their seats in the control room.
The badger had been running diagnostics on the weapons and Mantis had been looking over the navigation.
Beth had been fuming over Rocket's comments and the half-assed goodbye she had gotten from Groot.
When Beth had gone to hug the adolescent tree goodbye he had scoffed claiming she was embarrassing him in front of the pirate angel.
"-What are you talking about Drax?" Mantis questioned.
Beth blinked, "You sure it wasn't some kinda weird foreplay?"
The grey man shook his head.
"No, though they were sharing a quiet romantic moment," Drax recalled.
Beth sighed, "And you interrupted them?"
"I didn't interrupt, I was doing that thing where I stand so still I'm invisible," he corrected.
Beth and Mantis shared a look.
"You know you're not really invisible when you do that right?" Mantis scoffed.
Instead of answering Drax stood perfectly still.
Beth rolled her eyes.
"-We can still see you."
Drax frowned, "I was doing a much better job in front of Quill and Gamora."
"Right..."
"Besides, why would Gamora ask Peter to kill her? That's silly," Mantis pondered.
Drax surveyed the two.
"She knows something Thanos does not," he explained.
Mantis frowned "What does she know?"
"I don't know, Quill asked the same thing. She would not speak it because then more of us would know, Gamora said the entire universe could be at risk," Drax replied.
Beth looked at Drax. The grey man was not the smartest of the Guardians but he was not a liar.
"I trust Gamora, maybe it's best if we don't know but killing her-"
The badger shook her head.
"We'll keep her safe from her psycho of a stepdad," Beth added.
Drax nodded, "I'm killing Thanos on sight."
"Uh, maybe not on sight. He is very powerful," Mantis said.
