Chapter Thirty-One

"I wonder what it's like to be a superhero
I wonder where I'd go
if I could fly around downtown, yeah
From some other planet,
I'd get this funky high on a yellow sun
Boy, I bet my friends will all be ... stunned
They're stunned"

"Nidavellir (Continued)"

Rocket, Thor, and Groot watched on as Eitri lowered down what appeared to be a large metal brick.

Rocket raised an eyebrow turning to the dwarf, "This is the plan? We're gonna hit him with a brick?

Eitri sighed.

"It's a mold, a king's weapon. Meant to be the greatest in Asgard, in theory, it could even summon the Bifrost," he explained.

"Does it have a name?" Thor asked intrigued.

"-Stormbreaker"

Rocket side-eyed the two, before turning back to Stormbreaker.

"That's a bit much," the raccoon mumbled.

Thor looked at Eitri expectantly, "So, how do we make it?"

The dwarf looked thoughtful for a moment and gazed around the workshop.

"We'll have to restart the forge, awaken the heart of a dying star."

Thor nodded.

"Rabbit, fire up the pod," the god called to Rocket.

~*~

Rocket flew the pod around one of the rings that encompassed the dying star.

The raccoon knew his friends came up with notoriously bad plans or partial plans. He chuckled to himself about Quill's 'twelve percent of a plan.'

However, Thor's plan to restart the heart of a dying star may just take the cake as far as bad plans go.

"I don't think you get the scientifics here, these rings are gigantic. You wanna get them moving ya gonna need something a lot bigger to yank 'em loose." He explained to Thor over the communicator.

Thor jumped down from atop the pod where he had been securing the rope.

The god grinned, "Leave it to me!"

Rocket looked perplexed at Thor.

"Leave it to you? Buddy, you're in space, all you got is a rope and a-"

Before the raccoon could finish Thor began spinning the pod with the rope.

Rocket was reminded of the time he had sent himself, Beth, Yondu, Groot, and Kraglin through 700 jumps.

He yelled as the pod picked up speed.

"Fire the engines!" Thor yelled to Rocket over the com.

Rocket fired the engines and the pod soared along the ring. Thor used himself as an anchor to hold the pod steady. His body was dragged along till he found his footing.

"More power Rabbit!" Thor shouted.

Rocket fired the boosters giving it everything the pod had.
