Chapter Forty"Please don't tell me
That I'm dreaming
When all I ever wanted was to
Dream another sunset with you
If I roll over When it's over
I'll take this Cali sunrise with me
And wake up with the fondest memories"
Jamie All Over; Mayday Parade"Knowhere"
As the severed skull of the giant celestial came into view Beth felt a chill run up her spine causing the fur on the back of her neck to stand on end. Her stomach twisted as a sinking feeling settled into her bones.
The last time she had come to the space colony had been with Peter, Mantis, Drax, and-
-Gamora.
It had been the last place Beth had seen her friend alive.
Swallowing hard Beth looked to the other two members of her party. Rocket, who, to no one's surprise piloted the ship, and Nebula, who sat in the seat one back from the raccoon.
Even without the threat of death from lack of oxygen Nebula had remained mostly silent on the trip thus far.
The blue alien woman would speak when spoken to, mostly one-word answers. If she disagreed with the woodland creatures they got more of a reply but it still wasn't much.
"Remind me why we're going to Knowhere," Beth sulked aloud to the other two.
Shrugging Rocket sighed, "It's as good a place as any to start and besides that prancing peacock seemed to know a lot about the stones."
"Yea, but I'm pretty sure Thanos killed him before settling the whole place ablaze. There really wasn't much left of the colony," Beth replied.
Rocket pushed a few buttons readying the ship to coast into the skull.
"You never know, guys like The Collector are like cockroaches, you think you finally got rid of them and they scurry across the cargo hold," he noted.
Beth raised a figurative eyebrow.
He added, "Even if he's not there, his weird warehouse might hold some more information."
Nebula nodded, "I have to side with the fo-" She paused, remembering not to call Rocket that, "-him."

The Benatar touched down in the ruined space colony. Knowhere had never been a well taken care of place but the state of it now made Beth's heart sink.
Buildings still sat chard and decimated.
There were no comings and goings of folks.
The streets were quiet and barren.
No hustle and bustle.
All of the things that had once made the colony feel alive.
Every so often Beth swore she saw a figure move in her peripherals. It would vanish before she got a good look.
