Ghosts Can Dance

"Whenever I walk in the room
All the focus on me,"

Carrie started dancing to the beat, gracefully making her way towards the centre of the stage with various twists and turns she had no doubt spent hours practising with a still bright grin as she sang. Carrie may have been plenty of things, but she had excellent music, and she knew how to captivate a crowd and keep them focused on her.

"The way I talk, the way I move
They all want on my team,"

The rest of Dirty Candy rushed into the stage, dancing a few steps behind Carrie, clearly displaying she was the leader of the pack and the main singer everyone should have been paying attention to.

"Not trying to brag, brag
But I'm flawless
I'm taking over your playlist
Ain't perfect, but I can't miss..,"

Riya suddenly jumped as she felt a hand press against her back, acting on pure reflexes, ready to punch over her shoulder, only for the person to avoid the fist and Riya to calm down as she saw who exactly it was. Luke.

"Hey." He yelled into her ear with a grin bright enough to make Dirty Candy's spotlight look like a mere dollar store flashlight. Riya's own smile blossomed over her face, not being able to contain it with the new sudden burst of butterflies fluttering along her stomach, she supposed the nerves for the performance.

"Hey, so you did show up." Luke chuckled, playing with the rings on his fingers as he jumped in place, if anyone was ever eager to be on stage it was Luke and his eyes, which Riya couldn't help but notice looked bright green under the lighting.

He seemed to suit just about any eye colour and style in her eyes.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world," Riya knew it was the truth, she was positive even if Luke had been chained down all across the country he'd somehow manage to make it to their gig.

The butterflies in her stomach went wild. Riya once again dismissed them as nerves.

Luke lent down to Riya's level to whisper-yell into her ear, Riya herself all too aware of how his hand had yet to leave her back, the cold prickle of his skin over the layers of sequins and fabric sending goosebumps from the base of her spine all the way up to her shoulders.

"You look amazing by the way." Riya's grin grew brighter, cheeks darkening against the lit up darkness while she stared at her feet, desperately trying to focus on something other than the tingling nerves along her back where Luke's hand was pressed.

With a deep breath, Riya lent back, standing on her tip toes to whisper-yell back in Luke's ear so he'd hear, which he was kind enough to slightly duck so she wouldn't have to stretch as much.

"Thanks. You, don't look so bad yourself." Riya gently pressed her own hand against his bicep in what she expected to be a friendly manner. However, she saw his entire chest freeze mid-breath, eyes locking in on her hand and skin forming into goosebumps under her touch.

Her statement wasn't anything special considering Luke was just dressed as he usually was, black sleeveless tank top of some rock band, unkept hair and the same long chain over his neck. It was just usual Luke in his usual clothes.

Yet, Riya hadn't lied to make his ego feel better.

Upon noticing his reaction to the skin-to-skin contact, Riya quickly retracted her hand, Luke's own hand removing itself from her back to run down his shaggy hair instead, face turned away from Riya. Instead, the girl went to wave to the rest of the guys, to which Reggie eagerly waved back, but when she went to wave in greeting at Alex, Riya noticed he was missing.
