Ghosts Have
Feelings Too

Riya's finger hovered over the play button on her phone.

Frankly, she was torn in half. Riya wanted to hear her song finished with Luke's addition because she knew whatever he was mumbling while stood behind the armchair using it's back to prop his journal up would certainly help finish her song, but then came her other side, the one which reminded her this song wasn't just any song.

It was a song about her feelings for Luke.

Being completed by Luke himself.

If Riya wasn't so tenderly horrified, she would have found the humour in the situation.

She saw Luke glance at her just as her phone was about to time out and shut on its own. The lyrics from his journal already memorized and ingrained into his brain in the short amount of time of practising just like Riya's own lyrics had settled themselves into her own head.

Riya could still say no, to forget it all and something told her Luke would respect her decision this time around; however, she'd always remain the question of how the song would have turned out when her mind was placed alongside Luke's.

She pressed play.

The first few strums played through the speaker of Riya's phone, Luke gently setting his now closed journal by the phone's side while he slowly walked to Riya's side.

"Step into my world
Bittersweet love story 'bout a girl,"

Into her field of view came Luke's hand, slowly grasping into her own to lace their fingers together. Her head automatically snapped upwards to meet Luke's own, the infinitesimal smile plastered across his lips before he continued singing.

"Shook me to the core
Voice like an angel
I've never heard before,"

With their joined hands Luke hoisted her up to her feet, giving her a reassuring squeeze for her to take over. Riya didn't know why he had done such an action, it could be that he could sense her nerves and wanted her to loosen up so the lyrics didn't come out as stiff as she felt, or another reason she couldn't phantom entirely.

"Here in front of me
They're shining so much brighter
Than I have ever seen,"

Riya tried walking away from the prickling sensation in her hand, fingers loosening around Luke's to try to slip past his grip, he didn't relent. He squeezed at her hand tighter and dragged her back and spun her in place, Riya biting at the corner of her lip to contain her smile while she steadied herself back by Luke's side.

"Life can be so mean
But when he goes
I know he doesn't leave,"

Riya reached for Luke's other hand, lacing their fingers together before twisting around one another, his imperceptible smile turning into a full-blown grin before she started walking away with a barely contained smile while she finally managed to slip past his grip.

"The truth is finally
Breaking through
Two worlds collide
When I'm with you,"

Luke and Riya sang together as he caught up to her, grabbing one of her hands and encircling his arm around her waist before spinning her in place so she was pressed against him. Riya barely had time to collect her bearings before Luke was dipping her, foreheads nearly pressed together while she slid closer and closer towards the ground.
