Riya and Julie walked off-stage fully a giggling mess before being faced with Flynn's excited squeals as they delved into a full group hug.
The crowd had yet to stop cheering, and even those who had stopped were muttering about the outstanding last performance of the night. Everything was shining brighter in Riya's eyes, the differently coloured drinks atop the bar behind Flynn's back, the purple laden tables and chairs for the VIPs to sit on, even the steady colourful LED lights around her were even more vibrant.
It was as if Riya had learn how to see the world through its beauty and not a dirty lens once again.
"You were incredible." Flynn spoke to the two still ecstatic girls jumping in place while they separated from the group hug. Riya had a feeling the performance would do great, but she had never anticipated how amazingly beautiful it had turned out.
"Yeah, we were." Riya looked over Flynn's shoulder to spot the guys sat over the counter, legs dangling in the air or placed over the stools with the same excited grins Riya and Julie had plastered on their faces.
"We really were great." Riya lent over Flynn's shoulder and extended her hand towards the guy's receiving a quick high-five from both Alex and Reggie; however, she froze upon Luke's high five which didn't really count as a high-five, more like the pressing of hands together.
Her entire arm locked up straight, skin bursting into goosebumps over her arms, Luke's hand had been positioned high enough where the tips of his fingers could curl over her own, muscles slowly relaxing until his fingers almost slipped past her own to nearly hold her hand. However before it happened Riya quickly retracted her hand with an award chuckle, messing with the fabric of her dress to distract herself from her burning cheeks and the odd stare she was receiving from Flynn.
After all, what had been an overly romantically tense situation for Julie and the guys to witness, to Flynn it had simply been Riya with her hand raised midair for an extended period of time with the same look of shock you'd get from placing your fingers inside an electrical socket. However, Julie quickly lent over and whispered Luke's name and the entire situation made sense to Flynn.
Riya looked up from her fiddling fingers as Flynn laid her arm over her shoulders, momentarily distracting her from the very dead distraction sat atop the counter in front of her.
"I seriously don't think I've ever heard screams that loud." Riya laughed, the warmth around her cheeks cooling down with the speckles of sweat dripping along her face after the arduous performance.
"That's probably my dad's fault."
"Your dad is awesome!" Reggie declared proudly, extending a fist bump which Riya returned before Julie and Flynn burst into a fit of laughter. Riya's father could certainly be loud if he wanted to, part of his job passing on to his day-to-day life.
"Hey. Hey!" Luke's voice cut off the fits of laughter while he pointed over the girls' shoulders. "Whoever Carrie was trying to impress is coming this way."
Riya turned so quickly she nearly gave herself whiplash, anyone Carrie was trying to impress was bound to be important, and if that very same person was coming their precise way it meant the situation was even more important.
"Oh, it's..."
"She looks all business." Alex interrupted Julie before revealing who exactly they were about to face; however, he wasn't wrong.
