A MIRROR'S TALE

In a mirror lie my dreams,

A reflection of my inner cosmos,

My heart's deepest desires.

Filled with hopes a-plenty,

Hope of a fairy-tale connection,

In gardens of tulips and roses,

Where happiness forever poses.

To live in a picturesque fortress,

Surrounded by lush greenery.

Where a plethora of creatures

Greet with the sun's embrace.

Craving a forever fantasy,

In a world that's truly mine.

I welcomed you within,

For naivety knows no discrimination.

How foolish was I,

To let you into my little bubble,

Protected from malevolent spirits,

Thinking you were it's protector.

You shattered it into countless shards,

Fading beauty and beasts with your curse.

The delicate mirror that it was,

It could not survive your treacherous blow.

Now I keep my mirror safe,

Beneath a tapestry, in a forlorn fortress.

None shall witness it's shattered beauty,

The hope preserved beneath the wreckage.

For it is safe,

In my hands,

It's sole protector till the end of time.
