A world that's being torn apart,
Violence putting down its foot,
Stomp-stomp-stomp,
A thud and a shot
Banners and placards,
Their larger than life cries
The lightning of oppression,
And thunder of rebellion
Flamboyant colors,
Flame in their eyes
Flags held high and rallied behind,
Flags stomped upon and ripped apart
Honey, I see it all,
And oh! Do I feel it all
This rage in me
Ever-quaking, fiery in its fury
Honey, I see it all,
But I see us too
We can squeeze in a lil' bit of lovin'
Can't we darlin'?
Let's shred the newspapers,
Thousand tiny pieces
Let's scream our heart's cries,
We must be heard!
But, when the night arrives, baby,
In all its calm and genteel ways
When birds sing, love,
Not a care for the world
Let's build our nest beneath the moon,
Let's enshrine our love,
In that embrace.
The world can't wait,
But neither should we!
So, kiss me a bit longer,
A bit deeper,
Let urgency consume your soul,
Let fire ignite at the first touch.
