The news 'round town is that you're a storm in the making,
But I've danced with tempests and sipped their nectar
Your big, bad, broody does so many things to my moody
The cold flashes of your eyes can never melt this fire.
You say, baby, God's our challenge,
That destiny will never be kind to us,
That loving each other ends with losing each other
But who's to say there's no light at the end of this tunnel?
This fool has a vision and you are her eyes
So why make sorrow your constant companion,
When my shoulders are tailor-made for your head?
Let's forget the world,
Let's forget its gray monochrome winters,
Oh, to hell with its scornful summers!
And who ever truly liked the morose fall?
I must confess, there's no season better than your arms' reason,
Come back to me, my world is fading.
Why be selfless when selfish sings so sweetly?
What are morals but chains to bind our power?
Why care for a world that never batted an eyelid for us,
And try to string its pieces together,
When the rest were content with its shattering?
To hell with the burden on our shoulders,
To hell with the weight on our drooping eyelids,
Let's give a reason for our brows to arch up,
Stretch our smiles till they ache, till our teeth flash at the world.
Defiance is like honey, and rebellion our anthem.
Come take my hands in yours,
They're aching for your touch.
