Ryke:
I'm outside my bedroom with a glass of whiskey. I watch her leave. She jumps into her truck and Nina followed but stayed put. She waved her off and started to drive down the road.
The loud sound of the door knocking making me move my eyes out of the empty road and turned towards Ryder. He's leaning against the doorframe. The arm that doesn't have a sling on.
"What are you doing?" He asks me. I just gave him a shrug. "Don't play dumb Ryke. I saw the way you looked at her and her wanting to look away immediately."
"If you actually looked at her properly, you saw how uncomfortable she was speaking about Quinton. You would've saw the bruises around her neck." I tell him. "I accidentally moved my arm and moved most of the hoodie." I added annoyed thinking I'll actually think like that. "Ryder, she's literally skin and bone." He stares at me.
"What are you saying?" He tells me annoyed, "When I walked Nina on my normal field, she came up to me, but as normal the festival doesn't come onto that road and then Nina tried to attack it as the music. So, she offered me to stay at hers. And he treated her like crap."
I told him and he just stares at me. "I know your friends with him Ryder. But he treats her shit." I took another sip of my beer. "Don't tell anyone." I tell him. "Just me and you." He stares at me before nodding.
"I'm telling Aspen though." I rolled my eyes. "No! Just me and you." He rolls his eyes. "She's my girl, I'm telling her." I grumbled. He storms out of my room heading towards the kitchen. "Tell her not to say anything to anyone else Ryder!" I yelled. "Not even Allie."
Nina came barging into the room and sit down at the door. She barked. "I'll take you out in the ranch and not to the normal place." I tell her and grabbed her lead just incase some random comes with music and ruin it for her.
She wags her tail. I don't have the courage of going to that field just incase I make it worse for her. And I don't want to go to this area. Because me and Caitlin always walked this way.
I sighed. It's one of the other. Me getting ruined from my past. Or probably ruining someone else's life. I choose mine.
I walked down the stairs and Nina followed. I turned to see Aspen staring at me. "You've got to help her." She tells me and I stare at her. "Ryke, she seems more comfortable with you than anyone else. You've got to help her." She tells me. She grabs my face gently.
"Please Ryke. She's my friend. Your friend. Please." I sighed and rolled my eyes. Shall I? Or should I just let other people deal with this. "I'll see." I tell her as I walked out of the front door. I headed to the field. It won't be long before Ryder and Aspen go home.
But they're probably go to that lake in a minute and go on their paddle boards and watch the sunset. I headed down the path and started to walk up the main hill. I got the ball out of my pocket and thrown it for her and she barges through the bushes to go and grab it. I watch her run to her feet and then I look up. This is mine and Caitlin's spot.
"Ryke, I can't walk anymore." She groans as we've been walking none stop from outside the ranch, to Ryders cabin to pick up something and then head on this walk. I laughed.
"Come on Caitlin, we're not anywhere near the top." She groans. I laughed and held out my arms for her to run up to me. I pick her up and headed towards the top. "Ryke! I can't let you carry me up there." I rolled my eyes. "I can do whatever." I joked.
We reached the top and dropped down the blanket and we both sat on their. Nico ran down the path over and over again. I smiled. "Ryke..." she turns to me. "Yes?" I kissed her cheek.
"Im going to live in the city." She tells me and I stare at her. But I have no smile on my face. No emotion. "Why?" I asked her. Not knowing what else to say. She stares at me. "Don't get me wrong Ryke." She places a hand on my cheek. "I love this place. But it isn't me. I tried for so long to be here for you. But I can't do it anymore." She kisses the tip of my nose.
I don't know what to say. What to do. I don't know. I just stare at her confused. Her blonde hair swept on her shoulder. "Caitlin... I don't think it'll work, because this is my home, I won't be able to move." She nods. "I know..." her green eyes stare into mine.
"I'm staying for a few weeks, then I'm leaving." She tells me. "We can stay together until we leave and make more memories before I leave." She whispers and I agreed pecking her lips. I went in deeper and pushing down onto the blanket and going on top of her.
"Your mine until we say our last goodbyes."
Then I knew I made a mistake. A massive mistake knowing I should've stayed with her and moved. So, I did. I left but the problem is I saw her kissing her new boyfriend. Then I headed back here. I knew I made two mistakes and that's why I won't chase anyone.
I shouldn't have come up here. Nina barges up to me with her ball in her mouth. She dropped it at my feet and I picked it up and thrown it behind me and we both headed back to the truck.
My phone went off, I picked it up and saw it was Aspen. I answered it and Nina dropped the ball and I thrown it further and she ran after it. "Hello?" I answered.
"Ryke, where about's are you?" She asked me. I looked around. "Im on the walk you and Ryder you go on." I tell her and sat down on the ground. Nina runs over to me and sits down on my lap. I stroke her forehead and she doesn't drop her ball.
"Ok, I was going to say Allie invited all of us to the wedding." Why would she do that. It can cause more pain towards her from her husband. I don't know either to go or not.
"Ryke. You have to get her out of that wedding that's a chance. Please." She tells me over the phone. I sighed. Should I? She's a family friend. Maybe. I'll think about it.
