Twenty four

Allie:

Before I left I went to say goodbye to Aspen and Ryder. They gave me a tight hug. I sat down in my car with Rex next to me. He's crying as Nina is out of my door wanting to come in. The memories of times that I have with Nina and Ryke. Tears sting my eyes. "God! I made a mistake!" Tears run down my cheek.

I shouldn't have allowed Aspen to convince me to get out of that marriage. Because I'm straight back in because it's been my fault since day one. If it wasn't for me. Ryke wouldn't have that scare with going to jail. I drove past a truck that was so familiar and I'll always remember it as Ryke's.

The silver Mercedes truck, knows all the things that has happened while working on the farm, the dents. The dirt and also the broken sign that he tried to fix but he's not able to.

I drove past and went straight to Quinton's house. I pulled up and Rex was growling. "Come on boy. Promise to protect me when here." He barked telling me he would. I opened the door and whistled and he jumped down and I went to grab my stuff from the back and headed straight inside. I whistled and we headed headed inside. I grabbed his ball to make sure he stays close.

"Yes! Lucas! I want to send him to court. He did too much. I've got a broke nose from him. So, we got to."
I heard Quinton's voice. Fuck! He's still taking Ryke to court still. Even though he said he wouldn't.

I grabbed my phone and texted Aspen.

Me: he's taking Ryke to Court.
Aspen: shit!

I told her why I was leaving. Not Ryder. Because he would tell Ryke and he would try to convince me otherwise.

Me: he's lawyer family is good friends of mine. I can speak to them.
Aspen: thank you Allie. Once your out of the court. Get the fuck out of this house. Don't stay because you won't need to.
Me: I will. Im just helping your family out even though, they'll never accept me again. So, have a lovely life when this is over Aspen.

I turned off my phone. "Allie? Is that you?" I gulped and Rex growled. And that gives him the answer and came through the door. "I've changed my mind. I'm going to take Ryke to court." He answers and I let out a gulp.

"You said you wasn't." I answered and I slapped my mouth shut.  His eyebrows stitch together. He walked over to me and pushed me against the door. "No matter! He embarrassed me in front of the town." He tells me before going to slap me and Rex is growling horrendously at him.

Meaning if he ever lays a hand on me, he would get bitten like the last time I was here with Ryke, Aspen and Ryder. Ryke... remembering his name is like a stab to the heart. It broke my pieces as I had to tell him he was no better.

Quinton put a mic on me, and linked it to his phone, so if I said anything or turned it off he would have beaten the shit out of me.

"When?" I asked him. "Friday."

Lucas came over the next day an hour earlier. Quinton was out going for errands and I'm sat alone.
"Lucas! Please you got to help me! Please you got to help Ryke out of this. He needs a good lawyer. He was protecting me as Quinton came to my work." I answered and he lets out a sigh.

"Please Lucas. This is the only thing. I can't let him go to jail for my doing. He was protecting me. Think of how many times I ran to yours. Beaten because of what Quinton did to me." Tears started to spill from my eyes.

"I'll do it. Can you take me to their house?" I gulped. As I remember the last thing Ryke told me and I nodded. I am helping them. I don't care about the police. I'm getting them help. "Of course." He brought me into a hug. "I'm so sorry this has happened to you again Allie. I'll make sure that this is the last time you see him."

"Thank you! Thank you so much." I told him and he nodded.  "Now who's this man I'm protecting?" He asks me and I let out a sigh.

"He's the love of my life."
