"Thank you," I managed to reply, my voice a little shaky from the unexpected closeness.
Mr. Kim's actions left me feeling a bit flustered, and my heart raced as I tried to gather my thoughts.
As I glanced around the room, my eyes landed on a massive telescope tucked away in a corner.
It was impossible to ignore the intriguing piece of equipment amidst the elegant decor.
"Wow, that telescope is quite something," I remarked, gesturing towards it with genuine fascination.
My curiosity piqued, I moved toward it, drawn to the idea of observing the night sky.
Mr. Kim followed my gaze and smiled. "Ah, yes, that's one of my favorite additions here," he said. "Feel free to take a look, Jimin. The night sky is always mesmerizing."
I nodded, grateful for the distraction. As I peered through the telescope, the universe opened up before my eyes. The stars and planets seemed so close, yet infinitely distant. It was a moment of serene wonderment that allowed me to gather my thoughts and regain my composure.
"Mr. Kim, do you have a preference for stars over the moon?" I asked, my eyes still fixed on the celestial wonders through the telescope. The star-shaped pendant around my neck felt like a subtle reminder of the connection.
He considered my question for a moment before responding, "I've always had a fascination with stars. There's something about their distant glow that feels both comforting and mysterious."
I smiled, remembering the star symbol on the pendant he had gifted me. "So, you're more of a star person, then?"
"Indeed," he said with a hint of passion in his voice. "Stars have a way of leaving a mark on the night sky, just like how certain things can leave an indelible mark on our lives."
"Like an obsession?" I couldn't help but chuckle, realizing how aptly his words applied to the very subject of our conversation.
Mr. Kim laughed, the sound both light and rich with meaning. "You could say that. After all, stars have a way of staying around, much like an enduring obsession."
"Speaking of obsessions," I began, the chuckle still lingering in my voice, "what's your recent one, Mr. Kim?"
He glanced at me, a playful glint in his eyes. "Well, recently I've found myself drawn to poetry."
I couldn't help but raise an eyebrow in surprise. "Poetry? That's unexpected."
Mr. Kim laughed softly. "I know, it might seem a bit unconventional. But there's a certain beauty in the way words come together to create emotions and imagery."
