"Mr. Kim, I can tell you have quite an interest in collecting antique things," Officer Mingyu stated, looking at the interiors of Tae's mansion."Yes, everyone has their interests, and I'm particularly interested in old things," Tae replied with a calm yet subtle tone.
"May I know what your relationship is with Park Jimin?" Mingyu suddenly asked.
"He is someone I treasure the most," Tae said, right after his question.
Officer Mingyu raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Tae's response. "Treasure him the most? In what way?"
Tae's eyes darkened slightly as he leaned in slightly, a hint of threat in his voice. "Officer Kim, I'd suggest you tread carefully in this case. If I ever get a whiff that you're trying to involve Jimin in this matter, you'll regret it."
Mingyu's eyes narrowed, and he remained unfazed. "I'm just doing my job, Mr. Kim. And if Mr. Park is indeed innocent, he has nothing to worry about."
Tae's smile was chillingly calm. "Remember, officer, not everyone who holds power is visible. Be careful not to cross lines you can't come back from."
Mingyu didn't respond, but the tension between them hung in the air as they continued their conversation.
Officer Kim seemed restless, pacing back and forth and lost in thought. He finally decided to drive back to Jimin's penthouse and asked him to come down for a minute.Jimin felt nervous as he walked over, unsure of what to expect.
"Hey, how are you?" Mingyu asked, trying to sound casual.
"All good," Jimin replied, a bit cautiously.
"May I know what is your relationship with Mr. Kim?" Mingyu's tone shifted, becoming more direct.
"Why do you want to know all of a sudden?" Jimin asked, his curiosity piqued.
"Tell me. It might be useful for my case."
"He's like a guardian to me, a brotherly figure," Jimin responded, choosing his words carefully.
Officer Kim's gaze sharpened as he studied Jimin's expression. "Is that so? Just a guardian?" he asked, a hint of suspicion in his voice.
Jimin's heart raced, and he tried to keep his composure. "Yes, just a guardian. Why do you ask?" he replied, feigning innocence.
Mingyu continued to scrutinize Jimin, his eyes narrowing slightly. "It's just that your reaction seems a bit off. Anyway, if you get harassed or something fishy, please don't hesitate to let me know."
Jimin nodded and tried to appear cooperative. "Of course,I'll inform you."
Mingyu nodded as he left for the police department, only to receive unexpected news - he was being transferred to Busan.
"It's got to be Kim Taehyung's doing," Mingyu muttered to himself, convinced of Tae's involvement. His colleague Eunwoo approached him, offering some words of comfort.
"Eunwoo, can you help me out with something?"
"Sure, what do you need?"
"I need you to track Kim Taehyung's movements and see if there's any FIR in our police records."
"But why focus on investigating Kim Taehyung? He's a superstar!"
"I can't explain everything right now, but I trust you to help me with this."
