It's been almost a 5 months since Yeji has been working at the bakery, and she has been doing well.
She and Yeonjun became good acquaintances. At least that's what Yeji thought. Adding to that Irene and daily clients loved her very much. But she couldn't say the same about life out of the bakery.
Her parents, her schoolmates, her neighbors, everything outside the bakery was hell. Living hell. "Yeji-ah, come please" Irene exclaimed " YES! I'm on my way!" Yeji exclaimed back while walking towards Irene.
"Yeji you said that you wanted to study at B3 right?" Irene started "indeed~?" Yeji confirmed confused "but why bring this up all of a sudden?" Yeji then asked "because B3's JYP has launched out scholarship offers for students." Irene said " is that so are you thinking of enrolling Yeonjun-ssi there" Yeji asked perplexed.
"No silly, haha. He already studies at hybe darling, I'm talking about you!" Irene said. "M-m-me ma'a- I mean Ms.Irene" Yeji stuttered "yes you you have plenty of potential" Irene said unphased " it's just my parents wouldn't allow me too" Yeji whispered.
"Parents? Yeji it's fine your parents won't have to know" Irene said out of the blue "what?" " I mean they don't have to know. You can come tomorrow tell them you have a full shift and go do your test?" Irene said "but Ms-"Yeji was cut short when she was being pushed outside the shop. "I will know your answer when you come tomorrow, but now go back home I'll close the shop." Irene said. " Ms.Irene I-" "Bye" irene shut the door to Yeji's face "hehe, bye" Yeji waved while laughing.
15 minutes later Yeji was walking back home when she spotted her classmates Hera, Jurin, and Maya and they saw her too.
'Oh crap' Yeji thought, those where her biggest bullies and she wanted to get away from that. But then they called her name "hey shit-ji" Jurin said while they were walking towards her. "How have you been I don't see you lately at school?" Hera asks. "I was actually, today, yesterday, last week, I'm at school everyday actually" yeji answers pretending to look for something in her bag. "Anyways, we need you to buy something for us" Maya imposed.
"Rig-right now" yeji stuttered "yes right. Now." Hera answered, "well what do you want me to buy for you"yeji asked "nothing much, just some cigarettes and beer" Jurin answered unbothered "but but Jurin I'm underage I can't but cigarettes or beer I don't have an ID. Please Go ask someone else"was the last thing Yeji said that night .
They grabbed her and started hitting everywhere, she almost fainted but they didn't stop. "Hey! Police , stop. What are u doing to her!" A policeman was rushing towards the scene, but the three girls fled and left Yeji lying down there almost lifeless. The policeman ran up to Yeji, she was covered with her own blood. "are you okay? What am I saying of course your not, let's take you to a clinic". The policeman bandaged Yeji's wounds and let Yeji in go home.
Once Yeji returned home she saw her father (which is actually her stepfather) sitting on the sofa with a belt in his hands. Yeji walked passed him to her room , she was about to close her door when suddenly a hand stopped it from closing. "Why are you back so late." Yeji's stepfather asked. Yeji didn't answer "oh what is this, silent treatment. Okay that's fine, but it won't be for long." He then suddenly pushed Yeji onto her bed and locked her door. He then took of his clothes and forcefully started kissing her. She protested but her protests were vain and he then took of her clothes and raped her. 4 hours later Yeji was in her room crying, bawling her eyes out. What else could she do she couldn't tell her mom anyways, she wouldn't believe her. She could run away but to who would she run to. Irene, she could go to Irene's house. Without a second thought she changed took some extra clothes, jumped out the window and started running to the bakery in tears. Irene's POV I was sleeping but had woken up to the sound of banging down stairs. "Who could be here so late... yeji. Yeji! O dear!" I gasped. Ran to the door and opened it to a crying, bruised Yeji "Yeji dear why are u here so late" I asked "I'm sor-sorry, I ran away from home. Me stepdad he-he raped me I didn't know where to go I don't have friends either. I'm sorry if I'm an inconvenience, I can find something else" yeji said in one breath " what nonsense you can stay here for as long as you want it's fine come let me give you a room." I gave her a room she took a shower and I tucked her in bed. I knew something was fishy about her bruises, but this? Poor little thing." Next morning 8am Yeonjun's POV I woke up and was about to go to school when I saw a familiar face early today "Yeji?" I asked "Hi Yeonjun"yeji answered "what are you do-"I was cut short when I was pulled in the corridor "Choi Daniel. Don't ask her questions she ran away from home" my mom told me "but why, is it because of what you suspected?" I asked " partly yes, but it's also because her stepfather raped her" my mom answered "oh damn that's fucked up..." I said "yes it's fucked up, and knowing Yeji she won't like the look of pity from you and she won't stay here for long if she feels like an inconvenience. so we have to find a way to ensure her safety" my mom imposed "yes you're right" "Ms Irene!" Yeji exclaimed "oh I'm sorry am I interrupting you" she asked "no dear go on" my mom said. " when did you say I could go to apply for the JYP scholarship" Yeji asked "you want to go to JYP" I asked "yes!" Yeji answered " I mean if you want to go I can take you its today at 12 o'clock" my Mom answered "really thank you I'll be ready by then." Yeji walked to what I think is her room. " Choi fucking Daniel Yeonjun GO.TO.SCHOOL!!!" Mom almost hit hit me "okay ,okay ! I'm going bye" I ran out and through her a flying kiss"
