This chapter is a long one especially because of the ending to it. My advice would be to listen to Grapes by James Marriott as you read the ending part. I did change some of the lyrics to fit the story and plot line so do fret when you realize it doesn't sound the same. I will also be skipping any lyrics used twice so that it doesn't make this chapter too too long. Enjoy!

"Shut up and sit." Talia said to Diego as he argued with her.
"My arm is fine, I don't need stitches or a sling." He rolled his eyes trying to leave. Talia sighed as she grabbed his wounded arm causing him to yelp in pain.
"If it's fine then you wouldn't be yelping like a puppy. So sit your ass on this table and shut your fucking mouth." He nodded before sitting down and she grabbed everything she needed. Diego watched intently as she cleaned him up. "Stop staring creep."
"Why do you still write about me?" Diego asked the question that had been on his mind.
"What?" She asked with a breathy chuckle.
"Other artists write a few songs about a person then move on. Every single one of your albums has a song about me. So, why do you still write about me?"
"I don't know. I write about what's on my mind."
"I'm still on your mind?"
"Yes, Diego." She sighed as she started stitching him up. "You were my first love. No one can truly forget their first. Especially when it's someone like you."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Nothing. Nothing." There was another long silence before Diego spoke again.
"If I didn't leave...do you think we would've lasted?"
"I don't know. There were something's that make me think we wouldn't have."
"Like what?"
"To start it off, you held your pride more than me. I'm stubborn but I know when I'm wrong, you kept fighting even after I proved you wrong. Then there were the nights where you left unannounced. Made me feel like I wasn't good enough to stick around for. The biggest thing was that you never told me about the police academy. I knew, but you not telling me made me feel like you couldn't trust me. I did whatever I could to make you trust me enough to tell me, but you never did."
"Talia..."
"But there are reasons I think we could've made it. You're very sweet, you're like one of those hard candies with the gooey inside. Once you get through the tough outer shell you're just a softy. All the little things you did for me made me feel special. My favorite was when I would come home after a terrible day at the studio and you'd just sit and listen as you helped me wind down, that made me feel heard. I'm not saying we could've made it then. I'm not saying we wouldn't have made it then, either. We'll never know."
"I was a coward for running, wasn't i?"
"No." Talia said as she grabbed the sling and placed his arm in it. "You just didn't know communication. Granted we could've worked on it, but still. You did what you though was best and that was running."
