Talia hit the ground with an, "umph." when her head hit the pavement. She stood up and stumbled to the nearest wall, the time traveling took a lot out of her. She felt the back of her head and her staples had fallen out or been torn. She slowly slid down the wall as she tried to catch her breath and keep her eyes open.
Caleb was walking to meet his friends when he saw a lady struggling to breathe. She was beautiful and maybe that was partially why he went to her, but it was mainly because he was concerned. He quickly rushed over to her and saw her eyes start to roll back, the blood coming from the back of her head didn't go unnoticed either. "Ma'am, ma'am. Can you keep your eyes open?" He asked as he shook her shoulder.
"Diego?" She mumbled, the figure in front of her blurry and hard to make out.
"My names Caleb. Hey, keep those eyes open. Uh..." he thought for a second as he tried to figure out a way to keep her awake. "Oh! What's your name?"
"Tal...Talia...Hart." She said as she began to cough. Small amounts of blood coming out with each one.
"Ah, shit." He told himself before picking her up and rushing to the nearest hospital. As he ran to the closest hospital he could hear the woman trying to say something.
"Wha...y...year...?" Was all he could make out.
"It's, uhm, nineteen sixty one." He said, wondering why she would ask such a peculiar question, although he probably should've asked her that to keep her awake.

By the time he had arrived at the hospital the woman had passed out. He explained what had happened to the doctors and they took it from there, he didn't know why, but he had to stay and make sure she was okay. He found a phone in the hospital waiting room and called his friends to let them know he wouldn't be showing up. "You're late Caleb." He heard Juliet's oh so familiar voice.
"Yeah, I'm not gonna be there." He said as he looked around the waiting room.
"Why not, we've been planning this for months and everyone else is leaving tomorrow."
"Something important came up."
"Like what? Did your girlfriend get hurt?" She teased knowing Caleb was single. Caleb thought for a moment, he could tell the truth or lie and hope that Juliet would let it go.
"Yes, actually." He said before he smacked his palm against his forehead for being so stupid.
"Caleb, you're single." Juliet laughed.
"No. I just never told you that I was with someone."
"You better not be lying."
"I'm not." He said before he saw the doctor walk out into the waiting room. "Gotta go the doctor just came back."
"Doctor?! Cal-" Caleb hung up the phone and walked over.
"How is she?" He asked, crossing his arms.
"Stable. She seems to have had a previous injury, one that required staples. They must've been ripped out causing the wound to reopen. We can't tell what it has affected as of now, we'll have to wait until she wakes up, but you can see her if you'd like." The doctor explained and Caleb nodded. He headed back into the room where she laid and hoped that maybe this lie wouldn't lead to anything terrible, hopefully.

Caleb had left the hospital after a couple more hours and nothing had changed. He decided to head home, eat some dinner then rest. He'd form some other lie to get him out of this one. When he woke up the next day it wasn't because of his alarm, it was because of the banging on his front door. "Wake up, Caleb!" He heard her shout and he rolled his eyes as he threw on some pants and answered the door.
