"Come on, come on, don't leave me like this
I thought I had you figured out." Talia sang to herself as she did some paperwork."New song?" Juliet asked walking into the office.
"You know it. I'm naming this one haunted."
"Because you're haunted by your memories and the lack of them?"
"How'd you get that from two lines?"
"I can see your little note on the desk."
"That would do it." Talia laughed as she sat back down in her chair.
"You still thinking about it?" Juliet referred to the incident from a couple months ago.
"Yeah." Talia sighed. "It doesn't sit right with me. Like I know I knew him and I don't."
"You talk to Caleb?"
"...no."
"Talia!"
"What am I supposed to say? Hey Caleb, this man ran up to me a couple months ago and claimed he kissed me three days ago and that he's my boyfriend?"
"Yes."
"It's not that simple. Look, I'm marrying him next month, I say we just let it go."
"If you don't tell I will."
"That's not fair."
"Maybe Caleb knows something we don't."
"And if he doesn't then I may lose what I have."
"Just do it."
"No."

Juliet was joining Talia and Caleb for dinner that night and every time Juliet kept almost mentioning it Talia would kick her under the table. "I'm gonna use the bathroom I'll be right back." Talia excused, giving Juliet the look of 'if you say anything I will hurt you.'
"Do you know anyone named Diego?" Juliet asked once Talia was out of ear shot.
"No, why?" Caleb responded confused where this came from.
"Because some guy named Diego ran up to me and Talia a while ago. He said he was her boyfriend, she obviously told him no and that she doesn't remember him." Caleb's eyes widened, he knew the lie wouldn't last, but he hoped it would for a long time. Juliet noticed his reaction and got curious. "What are you not telling me?"
"Nothing..." he said as he looked down to his plate.
"Caleb."
"Fine. I kinda sorta lied about almost everything." He said wincing at the end of the sentence.
"Elaborate."
"When Talia had her accident, she wasn't my girlfriend. I found her in an alley on the way to hang out that day and I rushed her to the hospital. When you said 'what, did your girlfriend get hurt?' It was better than any lie I could've come up with so I agreed and here we are. You can't tell her."
"I- what? I can't tell her? Caleb she deserves the truth."
"Juliet I've built a life for myself let me have it."
"You've built a life off of lies. You lied to me and took advantage of her because you couldn't tell me the truth. Which honestly the truth would've been perfectly fine. You have to tell her right now."
