hello everyone, just a quick authors note. I will be changing the style of writing because I feel like this would be better for me to write and for you to read. instead of it being arielle's POV, it'll be in 3rd person POV.
I will also be changing the previous chapters as well, slowly but surely.
thank you and as always, enjoy! (((:

three months later...
Arielle opens the fridge and takes out a bowl of leftover baked chicken, potatoes and asparagus. she places it into the microwave, heating it up and took it out, heading over to the couch to eat. delano comes out of the room wearing a pair of boxers, brushing his hair. he just cut off his locs after years of having them due to them thinning over time. he sits down on the couch next to arielle and puts his arm over her shoulder, cuddling her.
"what time you got work?" delano asked, stealing a potato off her plate. she pushes the plate towards him, inviting him for more and he takes a bite of her chicken but leaves the vegetables. childish.
"less than hour, just wanted to eat something before hand. i'm about to get ready now." she says, as she gets up, putting the plate in the sink. arielle goes into the room, grabbing an outfit for work, she puts on a orange hoodie with the word "Brooklyn" on it, dark blue jeans and white air forces. she recently grew her bangs out and now has knotless braids in so she puts them in a ponytail, leaving two strands out to hang on her face. she grabs her things and leaves the room, closing the door behind her.
"you want a ride? I just gotta take a shower first." delano asked, walking up to arielle and putting his arms around her waist.
"na, i'll be late but thank you baby." she kissed him and grabbed her coat from the rack and left the apartment, heading downstairs. arielle stepped outside, the winter air cutting her like a knife and she pulled her coat together even more, walking to a car. she opens the door and takes off her coat, putting in the backseat. she gets in the car and looks over at the driver seat. simba smiles at her and grabs her hand, kissing her knuckles.
in the last three months, simba and arielle have gotten extremely closer. they've been hanging out alot more, going to bars, movie outings, grabbing a bite to eat from time to time and everything else you might deem appropriate for friends to do. of course without delano's knowledge. when the conversation comes up about her whereabouts, she tells him that she picked up extra hours at work, she's visiting her dad or she's at malani's house. simba and her both know their relationship is platonic but she doesn't want to tell the truth just yet, it would only fuel the fire more.
"you ready love?"
"yeah, let's go to this hell hole." she says, laughing and changing the radio to the aux to play her music. "Ballin" by Roddy Rich starts blasting through the speakers and they're on their way to work.

Arielle got to her office and sat down, dreading the day she was about to have. besides ajiri stealing the two bottles of tide, there has been a flux amount of people stealing. the job itself isn't stressful but when you're running around chasing multiple people everyday, it gets pretty intolerable. also erica is on vacation and imani quit so the coverage in the store isn't great either. she was currently trying to find a new hire but hasn't had any luck due to their lack of experience and availability. the phone on her desk rings and she picks it up, while searching for a snack in her drawer.
"arielle speaking" she answered, mouth full of pretzels.
"Hi, I recently applied for the assistant manager position at Leviton and i'm cal-" arielle swallowed and cut her off, taking a sip from her arnold palmer.
