Adam grew fonder of Triton as we finished our lunch. Nagpaalam na si Daddy na pupunta sa office at 'yung dalawa naman ay nagpahinga sa living room. My brother was showing off his flight miniature collection to Triton for he knew every information about them like the back of his hand.

Nasa dining area kami ni Mama at tanaw namin sila kaya naantala ang pagliligpit namin. Triton was always attentive and right now it felt wonderful to see him bond with my brother.

"Look at Adam... He really is passionate about aviation. He even told your father on his birthday that he wanted to be a pilot someday," sabi ni Mama habang nakangiting pinagmamasdan ang dalawa.

"He's following his footsteps, 'Ma. He knows what he wants and Daddy can rely on him to be in charge of the business."

I was wiping the table when Triton's eyes darted at me. He stifled a smile and was about to go back in here to help, pero sumenyas ako na hindi na kailangan. Natulala lang 'yung kasambahay sa kanya kanina kaya niya nakuha 'yung walis, eh.

Dinala namin ni Mama 'yung mga plato sa kitchen at nagtulungan sa paghuhugas. She taught me how to do the household chores at such a young age 'cause she didn't want me to depend on anyone when I was living alone in Canada. Naranasan ko na rin mag-commute mag-isa, pero hindi na naulit kasi ayaw ni Daddy. And they agreed to let me live with Rayiane for they knew that I could handle myself.

"Do you like him that much, anak?" she suddenly asked while I was meticulously rubbing the plate with the sponge.

"What I feel for Triton isn't just a simple crush." I glanced at her. "I've long known that I'm in love with him."

She smiled at me. "Love it is... You know, he was so bold and brave to declare his intentions for you in front of your father. He's your first-ever suitor and the first man you brought here, but he came prepared. That's what happens when one's feeling is true—showing actions that mirror his honesty and sincerity... and of course love."

"I want him, 'Ma. I want to be his girlfriend..." diretsahan kong sinabi sa kabila ng pag-init ng mga pisngi.

Mama smiled more and nodded her head. "Oh, okay! I thought you'd marry the rink but I was wrong. My unica hija is so smitten with Triton. Can't blame you, though. He's a good man."

Then, I told her in detail how and when it all happened. She gave me some advice, too. Kilig na kilig tuloy ako habang naghuhugas. Nabanggit din niya na si Rayiane ang magiging brand ambassador para sa bagong cosmetic products na ilalabas ng company.

"Do you want to come to the launch? 'Yon ay kung ready ka nang humarap sa public, anak. I invited beauty influencers and actresses, too. It's a highly anticipated event 'cause it's the first collection ever since we started going global."

I realized that I've never been to any of her companies' events since my teenage years. For sure, ka-close ni Mama ang mga miyembro ng media na mag-c-cover no'n. No one would dare throw eggs at me. No one would mock me because she was surrounded by the best and nicest people. And it wouldn't hurt to be a little brave to support her in her new achievement, right?

"I won't miss it this time, 'Ma. Kailan po 'yung launching?"

Her eyes sparkled with joy. "Really? It's on June 14. I'll call Mikee para magawan ka na ng dress!"

Uh-oh. Birthday 'yon ni Triton! I couldn't spoil my mother's happiness and excitement. It was too late to back out now. Magpapatulong pa naman sana ako kay Coach Joaquin para sa surprise party niya...
