Chapter 7
Not Enough
My new coach was sitting on my left side and he was followed by his son.
We broke the ice earlier, but I could still feel the slight tension between my two coaches. As if we were both thinking the same thing, Triton stole a glance at me but I caught him right away.
Adam noticed my movement, so he gently tugged my right arm to whisper.
"Ate, when will it start? I only came here to eat. Did you bring some baon?" he asked innocently.
Looking at him, I bowed my head more and chuckled. "I forgot to bring some snacks. And you'll spoil your dinner even if I brought something to fill you up, so just be patient. Mags-start na rin 'yan."
Adam sighed and pouted his lips. I even fixed the strap for him before I lifted my head and sat properly; just in time to witness the legal counsel handing down the copy of the contract to Joaquin Viglianco. The rest took it as a cue to focus on the most important matter.
"Mr. Viglianco and I have already discussed the terms and conditions, and he agreed.
"I thought we will adjust for him. Why did he have to..." nabitin ang sinabi ko at sinulyapan naman si Coach Joaquin.
He smiled at me.
My eyebrows furrowed as I thought that he didn't have to do that.
I paused.
Our eyes met and his long stare remained on my face as if he was lost in his thoughts. He nodded once and smiled to reassure me that he's gonna be alright.
"Ayos lang, Isla," he mouthed, eyes narrowing as he smiled deeper at me.
"We suggested that we would provide Mr. Viglianco his accommodation near your grandparent's house, but he insisted that you must complete your training here. So upon his request, we found him a place in Casa Lorenzo; his son can also visit him anytime he wishes to."
