(Song: Reflections~ The Neighbourhood)
Aresu was sitting beside him, sunglasses sitting low on his nose, sun kissed skin and blonde hair shimmering in the sun.
She knew she was staring but gosh how madly in love she was.
But the feeling from yesterday still lingered in her gut.
It was scratching her, tingling her right underneath the surface. It was like the thought itself—no, the feeling— had claws. Marking the inside of her heart, erupting suspicions.
Never mind—she scolded herself.
It's perfect right now, isn't it?(Wait for the beat drop)
Oh gosh and it was wonderful right now.
They had a break between their lessons, sitting on the stone-bench in the yard.
Imagine you both are sitting on one of the green benches there:Rafe's fingers brushed through her hair absently while he scrolled on his phone, seemingly lost on Instagram.
Aresu sipped down her ice-cold coffee and leaned against his shoulder.
It was so steady.
He was so so steady.
She closed her eyes, imagining them kissing once again. He was here right next to him but she could see and imagine them making out, kissing, loving more and more times. She saw their future behind her closed eyes and she loved what she saw.
Unintentionally she began to smile and wriggled closer to Rafe, breathing in his salty smell.
"Why you smilin'?" He said, also slurping on his iced coffee instead of looking on his phone, his other hand now not massaging her scalp but resting on her shoulders.
"You've been looking at me," she stated and smiled even wider.
"You did so too."
She giggled and nodded: "Yea, did so. You're beautiful."
He blushed slightly and looked away in shame.
"Thanks," he mumbled and sipped his coffee.
Aresu laughed raspy and also continued sipping on her cold drink.
The sun peaked through the leaves and painted light dots onto their skin.
"You know, I think you're very beautiful too. I keep on staring at you and I know I just love you. It terrifies me."
"Why?" She whispered and sat up to look into his eyes.
"It terrifies me what I would do for you."
Silence.
There was nothing she needed to say.
Her eyes spoke what her mouth couldn't for there were no words that could describe it well enough.
She bent forward and placed her lips on his forehead, kissing it softly.A tiny baby-smile erupted in the corners of his lips. And Grisu, very aware of the fact that he wanted to play it cool, grinned widely.
"You're soo tough, Rafe Cameron."
"Of course. I'm a bad bad guy."
Aresu laughed lightly and snuggled up closer again, the drinking straw between her plump lips.
The juice-box was almost emptied and the sucking made those hollow pulling-noises.
Slurpp
Pfghhfffpoo
Phhhffff
Rafe chuckled and gave her the rest of his box without a word and exchanged hers with his.
He now held onto to empty box and put it on the table.
"Thanks," she mumbled and continued drinking
"Robber."
She chuckled and intertwined their fingers.
And the contact felt once again wonderful. Tiny sparkles of electricity prickled under her skin and erupted into fireworks that lightened her heart.
If that was what life held for her then it was perfect. The way it was right now...
And no one could destroy that.
Her head rested on his shoulder, their knees touching, the sun kissing them.Well, it could in fact be destroyed quite easily.
A shadow appeared above them.
Grisu, having her eyes closed, thought it was only the sun hiding behind a cloud but still opened her eyes when she sensed Rafe tensing. And there she stood, looking down to them.
