(Song: Cynical~Emei)
The days after that incident had been...tense, to say at least.
And that was an understatement.
JJ had reached out to her multiple times, causing Rafe to snap at him. And almost breaking his nose. Funny...
Rafe's anger had then transformed into being bothered by Aresu and how she still protected JJ.
They had simply met to clear the confusion.
Then Rafe had seen it and boom...it got pretty bad.
Well. Grisu herself seemed to struggle with more than that, though.
There was this Averine girl problem and holy shit she was jealous. And Rafe did nothing! Literally nothing to make her feel better about it. He treated Ava like a secret, hid his messages, had less time for her and on top of that avoided talking about her.
And the nagging feeling in her gut did not end.

Well and her suspicions grew when she accidentally met her in the local grocery-store.
"You know it, don't you?" Ava said.
Her hair was knotted into a messy bun, the straight hair poking out the bun like spears.
She wore a long-sleeved shirt and a black skirt, her long legs perfectly presented.
"I don't." Aresu said, trying to ignore her and looked at the fruit section.
She had forgotten what she needed to buy. Anger and fury building up like acid. It burnt her throat, making swallowing hard and painful.
"Funny. I thought it was quite obvious. Rafe's a dick-centered person. He likes to do it rough. I know his body very well. I know his body and his soul. Gosh his dick is huge, my insides were burning as he filled me up with his love."
"What the fuck? That gross. He's my boyfriend. Who even are you?"
"I'm his lover. His affair. His soon-to-be-girlfriend."
The girl grinned widely, laying her hands on Grisu's shoulders and moved closer.
Her bared teeth shimmered like spears.
She was indeed beautiful. Her dark her shimmered healthy, her skin seemed flawless. The black eyeliner drawn as sharp as a dagger.
"You don't want me to know how to fuck your man?"
"Obviously."
"You're so incredibly old-fashioned. What does Rafe want with a conservative child like you."
Her voice sounded like a storm. And that exact storm made her heart turn ice cold.
"The fuck! Stop that bullshit." She said and her voice trembled slightly. Her grip around the shopping bag tightened.
She raised her hand up to her lips and gasped with a very fake-sounding expression on her face.
"I'm sorry."
"You will be," Aresu said and shook off her left hand that still rested on her shoulder.
"Rafe is loyal. He is now and he will be. I don't know what you want or who do you think you are, but I'm not going to listen to your lies any longer."
"He told me about you and JJ. He's pretty down because of it. It really took me some time to calm him down."
Aresu stood still.
"What? There's nothing between me and JJ!"
"He doubts that."
"I doubt your honesty."
"You should doubt his. As a fellow women, it's on me to tell you he's not honest. He likes me. Feelings can change, Grisu."
"Don't call me that."
"That's all that matters to you? The nickname I gave you?"
"No it's not, Ava. It's simply the fact that your talking nuts. And I'm not falling for that bullshit. Don't touch my boyfriend. Now move,"with that being said, Aresu pushed through the narrow row and went straight up to the next ingredients. She did not register which supplies she put into the basket. At this point it was a simple distraction.
"Girl, I'm simply warning you. He's insincere. And imma prove it to ya. It's not like I want to separate you too, but don't you think it's smarter to end the relationship when you see that he's got feelings for someone else?"
"Where do you take the audacity from?! Literally, Ava, you spawned out of nowhere." Grisu laughed bitterly and pointed at Avarine with a leek.
"I've been his onenightstand."
"And when was that?"
"Shortly after you moved to Outerbanks. We had something serious going on, then my internship in LA started... unfortunately we could never form a relationship because in that short time period you came into his life and messed with our plans."
"Okay? So what should I do about it?! It's how it is, get over with it."
"On Wednesday he helped me out again."
"So?"
"He placed his hands on places of my body that were too intimate for «only friends»" she pouted fakely and took Aresu's hand in hers.
"You see. He touched me here." She moved her hand up, placing it on top of her right boob.
The soft skin underneath Aresu's palm made her flinch like being burnt.
And if that was a lie, gosh Aresu's heart was still pounding.
And if it wasn't, she was screwed.
"Believe me, girl. I'm not lying. I love him just as you love him. But we had something deeper going on that we both can't deny, even after that short distraction."
"Distraction?" Aresu felt her heart freeze inside her chest. Coldness eating away her energy to talk back with strength.
"You're nothing more than that, shorty. You've never been."
Her heart dropped into her stomach at an instant. She felt like throwing up.
Instantly she closed her eyes, took in a deep breath and turned around, ready to leave the store.
The eyes of Ava on the other hand still laid on her, hiding, hating, envying.
"Aresu, stay outside and watch what will happen."
