"Buttercup, you out of that cookies and cream ice cream from baskin robbins?"
Dillon asks, his tone seeping into annoyance. Olivia's mom insisted that she needed to help one of the local store owners with something miniscule, but Olivia knowing her mom's secret code talk, she knew what she was really trying to do, thus in such bringing her to the store now. Being at the store beats being at home planning her grand escape from life which is why she didn't mind it this time.
"We should have an pint left!"
Liv called out making her way around the counter.
"Your wife's been buying in bulk for weeks now"
Her commentary earned an laugh from Dillon.
"Ion recall any of this the first time she was pregnant"
His dark coils grew since the last time she's seen him, with dark circles decorating the lines under his eyes.
"She doesn't sleep at all, and tends to be sick most of the time, this ice cream is the only thing she can keep down right now"
Judging by the panic on his face, Olivia could guess her friend was going crazy. He's an fixer if he can't be anything else. He likes to be in control and hates the idea of not being able to make things better. No chance in hell he was taking this second pregnancy lightly.
"Obviously I have no room to speak on this, but I imagine that every pregnancy would be different"
Dillon ignores her words, filling through the freezer, groaning and tossing everything out of his sight.
"I don't find this, she'll take my pistol and shoot me with it. Outside of her lack of sleep, she's become possessed by an evil spirit"
Though it's no secret Jayla's been pretty combative, Olivia just used the craziness of her pregnancy as an excuse for the irrational behavior as well as the many adjustments she's had to make in her life lately. Her second pregnancy underway, eloping, and permanently living in Harlem, her friend knows it hasn't been easy. Plus, tigers don't change their stripes, so she knows she's not giving her husband an break due to his mistreatment of her from their first real breakup.
"I'll check the back cuz orange and black? Not your color sir"
"And here I was, thinking you were concerned about me buttercup!"
He shouts with an grin as she walked back. Olivia lifts her hand in objection.
"Don't' be silly, I'm totally on her side about this"
Opening the door to the storage space, she steps forward, almost losing her footing, seeing the boxes piled up high, disorganized. She climbed over the boxes, reaching the deep freezer, finding an few more pints of the ice cream Dillon needed.
"Sup, you good?"
Dillon wonders as Olivia stumbled out of the storage, pushing her hair away from her face.
"Yup, just got plenty to do back here now"
He peaked his head around, checking it out before nodding.
"Hm, I'm sure Spencer would help you"
"You did not just say that"
"Oh but I did! I heard ya got an big night coming your way"
Dillon gives her an devilish grin, nudging her.
"Dillon James, your ass better get out of here and get back to your wife before your body is full of holes by me"
