Spencer sat uncomfortably in the passenger seat, granted Olivia wouldn't let him drive with all the liquor still in his system. Luckily, the guilt he was feeling soaked up all the alcohol he had consumed. Had he stayed away longer without Liv finding him and Carter dying before he could make amends, Spencer would never be able to forgive himself. The truth he's experienced in the last fourty-eight hours and the weight of it all felt like an ton of bricks had fallen on his feet. He was torn between the hurt of the truth and his evident love for the only man he could count on his whole life. Olivia's talk gave him the reality check that was owed, and he was ready to be their for his father, no matter how things panned out.

"I was just thinking if you had your police wheels, I could get away with speeding. Don't worry though, I'll get us there soon as I can"

Olivia threw an wink in his direction, letting their palms melt together. Spencer sighed in relief, slouching over into his seat, eyes closed, with memories he had with his father. Learning how to fish, hunting, and teaching him how to fight after him, Jordan, and Dillon got into it badly one day after school over an box of pizza and two packets of oreos. Olivia's head turned slightly in his direction.

"Penny for your thoughts?"

She pried. He quickly glanced over, patting her leg with the warmth of his hand.

"Just the little things about my dad when I was an young fella"

Her eyes squinted, failing at hiding her smile.

"Such as?"

"Showing me how to fight with his only pair of boxing gloves, our first hunting trip"

"Ohh that boxing ring you guys had, I remember it well. Dillon always tried to get me and Simone in it, lied about all the kids our age being participants and we'd have an audience wearing our bathing suits" She laughed to herself.

"I would've paid bands to see that"

He gently squeezed her leg, and she slapped his chest with her mouth agaped.

"Shut up! What else comes to mind when you think of him?"

"I mean nothing beats the way he would sit up all night, posted in his favorite chair on the porch, sometimes our balcony when we were home past our curfew, which was very strict by the way, no room for negotiation in that"

"Trust me, I know. Dil and Jordan would literally race through the town just to make it on time and still were late"

"And our pops didn't let them slide ever. Every two minutes we were late equaled to fifteen minutes of washing cars in the lots, four minutes meant an hour of shoveling dirt. By the third time, I definitely learned my lesson, Dil and Jordan did not. Sixteen minutes or more equaled to an four hours of cleaning the house, top to bottom and helping mom with her garden"

"I wish I had known that sooner, I would've made sure Dillon was late every night!" Olivia joked.

"The key was showing your face as early as possible. Once you do that, give dad an little quality time before bed, wait until he pops in the room to make sure your sleep, sneak back out soon as you hear his bedroom door close, and all the lights are turned off"

"Just think, had you not thought I was your brother's annoying friend, we could've gotten away with many nights together" Olivia chimes in playfully.

"I may have thought you were annoying, but I also thought you were beautiful too"

"Liar, liar! You told your brother that I was fugly and you didn't want me around. I fell completely in love with you by the time I was seventeen, but you wouldn't really give me the time of day, and I had an thing for bad boys, very serious I might add"
