After leaving Chris at her parents' home, Olivia's being filled with nervous energy. Stopping by the store, getting everything she needed for the evening while tryna convince herself this would be an good idea. Getting home, she became an woman with an mission. She stripped her bed of all evidence from the night before and did an deep clean. Hours after that, she had everything where it needed to be. Pushing obvious wayward thoughts over to her rearview, she gets everything prepped for dinner. Pork chops marinated in the skillet, and an fresh pan of chocolate fudge brownies were being assembled. She grabbed her phone catching an text from Chris.
Chris: Getting some wine, red or white?
Olivia: I think we can do without that tonight.
Chris: Hard cider?
Olivia: Love that.
Chris: My typa woman.
Olivia: I would hope so, considering how consistent you've been.
She cracks an smile, picturing his laugh.
Chris: You'll find out just how much tonight.
Her teeth gnawed at her lip as she debated in her mind on how to respond to that. Staring at the phone, another text came through.
Chris: Not in the way you're thinking.
Olivia: I know, see you soon.
She throws her phone to the side and gets ready. Going for comfortability, she settles into jeans, an dressy top that compliments her girls, and heeled boots to match. Once her alarm goes off, she tosses the meat in the oven, mixing the salad, and checking on the rice and gravy. Like clockwork, Chris's knock appears.
"Hey"
Opening the screen as he entered.
"Looking beautiful per usual"
Cooper notes letting his eyes travel up and down her body. He leans over, planting an kiss to her cheek.
"Thanks, your looking good too"
"Everything okay?" He asked.
"Yeah, I'm good. Dinner's cooking and we should be able to eat in about twenty minutes or so. Drinks?" Peering down at the case around his hand.
"Absolutely"
Chris followed her into the kitchen, rolling his hand down her arm.
"Olivia?"
He says after an few moments have passed.
"Yes?"
"Chill, there's no expectations for you to worry about" She sighs deeply.
"I know, I know, I'm just nervous"
"By what? Me?" He questioned.
"More about what this could mean for us"
She goes to explain, popping the top off the bottles. She hands him one, taking an long gulp from her own.
"I mean, you've seen how it was with him...."
"I do, but I'm nothing like him either. If we don't work out, that'll just be what it is. Your still gonna be Olivia, and I'll remain Chris. Two mature adults"
"Let's not talk about that anymore. We're having our friend date now"
"Indeed we are, but it's an actual date, remember that?" Chris clinked his bottle to hers.
