It's been a little over four days since Carter collapsed. Spencer's been back and forth between working and visiting him in the hospital which has left him and Olivia not much of an chance to see or talk to one another. They text everyday, leveling up the anticipation on when they're gonna see each other, but communication has been limited as of late. Simone informed her that the blood transfusion paired over well, and chemo options are carefully being considered. With everything happening with his father, Olivia didn't want to stress him out any further on the status of their relationship, or lack thereof. Though he's been focusing on the wellness of his family during this time, he asked her to come over after he finishes up with his workday. Olivia headed his way early, nervousness of what could happen taking over her thoughts.
There were so many things she knew he could say, and she hoped he hadn't changed his mind on things, but she would understand if he had, given everything he's had to endure as of recent. Her eyes circle the area as she pulled up to his home. Though it's been an minute since she's been there, everything appeared to be the same. Letting herself in with the key she still had, she noticed his truck wasn't parked in its normal spot. Spencer's house had been built on the edge of his family's owned land and property, in the vicinity where their family dealership resided. House wasn't too big, but it was more than enough for the simplicity that was Spencer James. He didn't need much but he allowed Olivia to put an few touches on things to make it look more like an single man's home rather than a bachelors pad. She walked in, setting her purse down, until she felt his shadow emerging from one of the rooms in the back of the house, startling her as she jumped.
"I didn't think you'd be here"
"Stopped by to grab something I actually needed. What's your excuse?"
He chuckled lightly while explaining. Her heart pounded as he approached her.
"Wasn't trying to wait around or prolong this any longer"
"Glad you feel that way, I've been kinda losing my mind too"
Spencer's body moved with confidence. His coils were jumbled together. His dark brown eyes sparkle with reverence. Her insides clenched together as he appeared in front of her. Breathing crescendos, fighting her inner urges to wrap her body around his. One thing that never lacked with Spencer for Olivia.... the undeniable sexual chemistry that welted her with desire.
"Why is that?" She questions.
"Cuz, I have no idea what this is or what were doin', Livie. I'm not sure what it is that you want from me, or even us for that matter"
His hand reached up, caressing his fingers against her cheek. She sighed from his touch, lips forming into an frown when his hand dropped below, blowing out air from his lips as he breathed.
"I've worked too hard to push you in the other direction and messed with your mind and heart countless times already. I could never make that right even if I tried but I don't wanna run from you again. Olivia, I love you"
Losing all the resistance he had left, Spencer latched his fingers onto hers.
"I can't make this decision for you, and I don't want to, so, if you want us to be together, then I'm leaving it up to you to choose"
An familiar fear began to seep back in. All of the back and forth they've gone through over the years caused her hesitancy in being able to say how she really felt about him. She wanted nothing more than to give him another chance to show her how real his words could be. Yet still, there was that tiny voice in her head encouraging her to run in the other direction and this would end up being like all the other times. She was completely torn between her head and heart and they both were saying different things.
