— Joint and Tequila
LIFE SEEMED DARKER Hannah's passing. It may have only been Natalia's opinion, but she was positive that everything had been dimmed. Like an eclipse over their small town. Hannah had once been the light. She had once been Natalia's best friend. The light was now dimmed into almost nothing and Natalia wasn't sure if it would ever stop.Life seemed to dim the night of Jessica's party. Why did everything bad in a teenagers life happen at a party? It never made sense. Parties were for fun and all that happened after was shit.
That night changed lives. Not in a good way. At all.

"I couldn't even believe it when you called me," Natalia gushed to Hannah, who walked around the party with her. "I figured you were still on your own new you journey."
"Change of place for the night." Hannah replied as she spotted Clay. "Are you gonna talk to him?"
"Talk to him? I mean, we've been kind of off lately. He thinks I like Jeff I think." Natalia responded and Hannah shook her head with a smile.
"You should talk to him." Hannah suggested and Natalia shrugged.
"I think I'm gonna go get a drink, you'll be good?" Natalia asked and Hannah nodded with a smile that made Natalia really believe it. Like everything would be fine.
Natalia danced through the crowd, getting caught by someone.
"Natalia." Jeff smirked as he reeled her in.
"Jeffery! What're you drinking?" Natalia asked, so he held his cup up to her lips. She trusted Jeff, so she took a sip. Her face scrunched. "What is this shit? Sprite and Coke?"
"My own special mix, want me to make one for you?" Jeff quizzed and Natalia shook her head.
"I need a joint and tequila in my system and then I need to find a stupid hot guy to make out with." Natalia whispered in his ear and he laughed.
"I'd offer myself as an option, but..." Jeff teased and Natalia pushed him away playfully. "Let's get you a drink, Bex."

NATALIA KNEW SHE had a good time for the majority of Jessica's party, but it fucking hurt knowing that party destroyed lives. Especially now that it was destroying hers.
Guilt swallowed Natalia whole most days. She talked to Justin about it at first, but he'd been consumed with none of this getting out whereas Natalia had been concerned about Hannah.
All of these thoughts she spoke about on her tapes were the last things she's thought about as she took her last breath. That devastated Natalia to the core.
How could someone live with getting blamed for someone's suicide? Natalia wasn't sure anymore.
It pained Natalia to think her best friend fed her lies about whether or not she was okay. Hannah told her she didn't need to talk it out, she was fine. Now when Natalia first listened to the tapes, she was nauseated. She was physically sick.
Natalia stayed physically sick.
Friends she thought she'd have respect forever had turned into people she hated. The things Natalia had said to Sheri when she found out were mean and filled with hatred. There was just one person she couldn't say anything to.
Bryce Walker.
