"Aaahann! It's Vivek Lamba. Investor of NationTrue News Channel. And you are my Katherine Pierce, junior producer of NationTrue News Channel." Mr. Lamba stated with a humorous excitement in his voice. "Welcome to our Team Miss." He continued with a chuckle saying, "And the C.E.O. is Reyansh Lamba, surprisingly, my son."
After taking a good amount of time in processing the incident that just took place, Aradhana decided to confront Mr. Lamba. She drew her chair closer to the table, sitting against the table opposite to him, thus, dissolving the formal-interviewer-interviewee distance between them.
She started, "Uncle! I really don't mean to defy your sentiments but I don't want to work there.", trying to be soft enough to not offend him.
He gave an obvious nod, "My son, I understand. If you think I am intending to reunite you with Reyansh, then you're wrong." he continued "I can feel what you've gone through and going through even now."
Listening to the idea of reuniting with Reyansh, he could sense fear in her eyes, as expected. She almost had tears. "Let's not talk about him now." he said to which she nodded.
"I want to hire you because we need to expose Mayank," he disclosed.
Aradhana was surprised yet again. How did he come to know about Mayank? Reyansh, better not, share it with him molding the story in his own point of view.
"No he didn't," Vivek answered as if he could hear her thoughts. "Vikram did." he said with a chuckle
She had furrowed her brows by now.
Her expressions were so vocal that Mr. Lamba was easily able to guess what she was thinking and when. Also it was even easier to calculate the kind of answer she needed.
"Actually, once Vikky was discussing Mayank's misconduct on the phone with you and I heard it." he admitted.
She then questioned, " So you were eavesdropping on us?"
He liked that she finally used words rather than expressions. Moreover, this time he saw Katherine Pierce, the Miss. Fierce Aradhana he first met, who never tolerated wrongdoings, regardless of the doer's name. It appeased him.
He answered, trying to sound light, "Not really. I was just passing by when some of his words entered my ear drum." and continued, "Now I can't control this while walking. Can I?"
She shook her head innocently and asked, "But why are you interested in Mayank?"
"Because it is not only about him but also about everyone like him," he said, sounding formal, for the first time. "Look Aradhana, being in journalism, even you know that there's not only one Mayank and Revati in this society." She nodded.
She sighed, "You even know about Revati, now!"
He nodded to her explaining, " When I heard Vikky that day, I went to him seeking the entire misconception that led to destroying you, your life and even my Rey. He's my son. I've nurtured him. I know his equations with women. But I also know that my parenting can never fail in his case. How much ever he hates women is nothing relative to the extent with which he loves me." He took a deep breath and continued, " I know he'll never let me down. So when he was being so monstrous to you, deep down I knew that it was not only because of that single slap, but was even greater."
