emiko was different from a lot of female gang members, yes she liked to party and yes she was a flirt to some people but she was also very smart. the girl graduated at the top of her class in high school and she could have been anything if she hadn't become the leader of a gang. the one thing that emiko loved to do besides shop was to read.

the other members of the gang always hoped that emiko would leave the gang world behind and go to college. she knows 4 different languages and is nicknamed the human encylopedia, which was given to her by kimi who always said that emiko could have gotten out of the shit-hole gang life when she could have. emiko's response always to her was she would never leave the girls behind and someone needed to be the sane one.

emiko loved to visit a small, hole in the wall cafe that was in a remote part of town because it was the quitest to read at and because most of the time she was the only person in the cafe at that time of night. reading was nice distraction for her responsibilities as the leader of hanaznono and helped her forget whatever may be troubling her.

" hi emiko, would you like the usual? " the shop's owner asked as soon as she spotted emiko and her famous brown book bag. " yes please " emiko said in a cheery tone and sat down at her usual back in the corner table. the shop's owner was an elderly lady that emiko called grandma because she was like a grandma to her. emiko had been visiting her shop since she was 12 years old after her parents started to work a lot and stopped paying attention to her.

grandma was always there for emiko, when she needed a shoulder to cry on or when she needed to tell good news to someone. grandma would always listen to emiko talk and often gave her advice when she needed it. " how are things, honey? " grandma said making emiko's usual drink. " good, we made new friends who is a gang from the sword area " emiko smiled at grandma who was more than happy to hear the news.

" that's great, i'm so proud of you to open up like that " grandma said smiling at emiko, grandma knew of emiko's fear about not wanting to befriend any of the sword gangs or get involved with their conflicts. "  you know, she would so proud of you and the other girls " grandma continued as emiko nodded. she knew that grandma was right that, back before her death the hanazono gang was all about alliances with the sword gangs.

" here is your drink " grandma said setting down the iced tea in front of emiko who smiled at her once again. " thank you grandma " emiko bowed her head a little as grandma smiled back and walked away. emiko pulled out the book that she was reading and her headphones, even though nobody was in the cafe music helped emiko focus more on her book.

normally, emiko would spend around an hour or two reading in the cafe then head back to the hangout, but today was a bit different. she couldn't seem to shake a bad feeling which was preventing her from focusing on the book. emiko gave up on trying to focus and just decided to leave the cafe and head back to the hangout. " bye grandma " emiko waved goodbye and smiled towards her. " bye emiko, get home safetly " grandma said waving bye and smiled back. '

emiko had stepped out onto the street, which was pretty dead expect for a few bars with people acting stupid outside of them. she had to walk a couple of mintues before she could arrive at the bus stop that would drop her off near the hangout. emiko would always let the members know before hand where she was going espically at night so if anything happens the members at least know where she was at last.

she still had the headphones in as she passed several more bars with more people hanging outside of them, this was her least favorite part of coming here. sometimes the people hanging out side of the bar would bother her or catcall her. emiko hated the walk but she also didn't want to drive her expensive car in the remote part of town surrounded by a bunch of bars with a bunch of drunk people.

" hey, pretty lady " a drunk male who was hanging outside of bar said as emiko had passed by. of course emiko could hear him but she always chose to ignore the drunks that called her. this made him a bit angry and started to walk towards her with a couple of his friends. they were shouting a bunch of things at her and she still chose to ignore them. the male who orginally called her grabbed her arm which startled her. " i'm talking to you slut " he angrily said as he started to drag her.

emiko had managed to flip the guy, which startled his friends that were with him. she had done trainning in mma, karate, boxing, and kickboxing. but the only problem was she couldn't fight a group of people. she could fight 1v1 and could easily take down who ever she was fighting against, but a group of people she would freeze or would cause a panic attack.

" not so tough now, uh! " a male yelled at her as she was already started to panic. " look she's scared " another yelled then laughed as she then was starting to looked worried. how was she going to get out of this mess? she could call her members but that would take long and they currently were at the entrance of an alleyway so no one would bother to help. " come on let's get her " another said as six men started to charge at her, but they didn't actually hit her.

emiko who had closed her eyes to prepare herself to get hit opened them to see a male around her age with black hair round kicking the guys. she just stood against the brick wall and watched in awe as this guy was taking out now seven men, the man that emiko had fliped had now joined the fight. he was beating the hell out of them and even looked back once to make sure she was okay. even then he managed to not get hit once, this made emiko become in awe even more.

" are you okay? " the black haired male said after he had finished kicking some ass, he noticed that she was shaking like a leaf. " did they hurt you? " he said lifting up her arms and scanned her legs to make sure she wasn't hurt anywhere. " i'm fine, he just grabbed my arm and dragged me " emiko said still shaking a little.

he nodded and picked up her brown book bag, then he stuck out his hand for her to shake. " i'm fujio " he said giving her a small smile. " i'm emiko " she shook his hand and gave him the same smile, fujio patted emiko's head and led her out of the alleyway. " thank you " emiko said looking at him who smiled brightly towards her now. " its no problem " fujio said, he was in complete awe of emiko and she was in awe of him.

" where are you headed? " fujio turned to look at emiko who pointed to the bus stop that was now coming into view. " i was headed towards the bus as well, let's sit together " fujio said happily as emiko nodded. " it was really impressive, how you handled yourself against them " emiko said quietly to fujio. " its nothing really " he said rubbing the back of his neck shyly.

both of them had gotten on the bus, he made sure to give emiko the window seat as he fully didn't trust emiko to be in the aisle seat. the rest of the bus ride both of them shared a conversation and yet neither of them shared what gang they were apart of. emiko didn't know if fujio had heard/believed the rumors of her gang and fujio didn't want to scare emiko with info that he was from oya high school.

fujio did know one thing, he wanted to protect emiko from anyone and everyone. she reminded him of cute puppy that needed to be protected from anything and anyone bad. emiko on the other hand wanted to protect fujio because he reminded her of her old friend, her best friend that had the same personality as him.
