Jayde groaned at the sound of her alarm. It was Sunday morning and her week with Jace started now because Kai was banging on the door.
She jumped up , put her on robe and rushed to the door. "Damn Kai what you bangin' for?!" Looking up at his 6'2 figure. He had on a t-shirt with the sleeves ripped off exposing his muscular tattooed arms, a baseball cap , jogging pants and Nike slides.
"I wasn't even bangin' girl calm down." He mushed her head walking inside with Jace in his arms. He placed him into her arms stretched his body then making himself at home on the couch.
"You can go now. All you had to do was drop him off." Jayde said watching him take his shoes off."We need to talk." He said taking his phone out and started scrolling.
"About?" Jayde said picking her son up who was on his way to sleep.
"My girlfriend Naija. Just wanted to let you know 'bout her since I been bringin' her around Jace lately."
"You know I don't like all these women around my baby Jace. What happened to Sydney? Or Briana? Or Felicia?" Jayde asked, reminding him of all the girls he had months prior to dating this Naija girl.
"I'm serious about Naija. I'm forreal this time." He spoke.
Jayde snickered at his response because that phrase was all too familiar and on the flip side it always hurt her feelings to see him move on from girl to girl and she had no one. "You said you were serious about them too and still brought my baby around them."
She didn't like other people whom she hadn't met before around her child. She knows what it feels like being around the wrong adults and she doesn't want her son to experience or come in contact with that type of situation ever.
" And I apologized for that. Naija is my girl now and we been goin' pretty strong." He stated.
She sighed not believing him. "Okay Kai. I would like to meet her soon."
"That's no problem shorty. I gotchu. But look I gotta dip. If Jace need anything you got my numba." Kai got up slipping his slides back on. Jayde led him out the door before locking it with a sleeping Jace still her arms. She carried him up to his room and gently laid him down before kissing him on the cheek. She loved her baby so much. Motherhood was tough , especially because she was single. At times she had it figured out and other times she's cry until she did.
Jayde went into the bathroom to get ready for the day. After a nice hot shower she started brushing her teeth , only to be interrupted by her best friend calling her via FaceTime.
"Good morning girl how you feeling?" Serene's sleepy voice echoed through the phone with her hair was all over the place. Jayde knew she had double times the fun when they left the hookah lounge last night.
"A little bit hung over but I'm ok. What's up with you and your hair?" Jayde laughed rinsing off her toothbrush.
Serene laughed with her , "Girlll when I got home Davon and I had a few more drinks and one thing led to another and I think you're about to be a godmommy." She joked.
Jayde scrunched her face in disgust "Ewww nasty fuckers."
Her best friend smiled through the phone and rolled her eyes playfully. Jayde wanted that feeling, knowing that she had a man to herself. She wouldn't put the responsibility of her having a son on anyone but that would be a bonus if they didn't mind that she had a kid.
"Did Kai drop off Jacey Pooh yet?" Serene asked referring to him by the nickname she gave him.
"Yeah girl he's in there sleeping."
