The next morning Julian was woken up to his phone vibrating under his body. He groaned , turning over to grab it and see who was calling him so early.
It was Jayde's mom. He swiped over to answer and sat the phone on the pillow while she was on speaker.
"Yes Mrs.Ali?" He said trying not to fall asleep.
"Julian , I need you to pick up Serenity for a few days give Jayde a break." Marilyn said.
"Yeah of course. I'll be there in about a hour alright?"
"Okay we'll be waiting."
"Is Jayde okay? How she holdin' up?" He asked genuinely concerned about her.
"She's getting there one day at a time. You broke her heart and she's just trying to get through that."
"I understand and I meant no harm by what I said and—"
"No need to apologize to me Julian. Serenity will be ready when you get here." She said before hanging up on him.

Julian arrived at the time he said he would , hoping he could see Jayde and maybe talk to her.
Marilyn opened the door with a disappointed look on her face.
"You stay right here. I'll go get the baby."Julian felt down that he wasn't allowed in their home and he wished things didn't happen the way they did but he felt it was for the best. Marilyn then came back to the door , with no baby.
"She wants to talk to you surprisingly, but only for a few minutes. She's on the back patio."Julian wasted no time going to the back , and seeing her wrapped up in a blanket scrolling on her phone.
"Hey Jayde." Julian slowly approached her and took a seat next to her.
"I see you found someone else, congrats." She said dryly not looking at him.
"No I didn't. Where did you—"
"Jaylen told me. Darling? That's her name?"
He sighed , "Yo brother don't know shit aight?"
"Then who is the girl? When did you meet her?"
"It was after we broke up Jay—"
"So you moved on that fast? I can't help but to question did I mean anything to you or was I just a place holder until you found someone else?" The tears were no longer able to form , she was tired of crying over him and everyone else was too.
"Jayde , I love you and you know that. I just got some shit going on and I ain't want you in the middle of it."
"You told me all of the shit and I believed you. You said we were forever now I'm just another baby mama." She rolled her eyes, still not being able to look at him.
"I don't know how many times I can say sorry to you. I know you hate me, I hate my fuckin self for this but I just can't give you one hundred percent right now. I would rather let you go then string you along with my bullshit." Julian confessed.
"Whatever Julian. I'm done with the conversation. You can take Serenity and leave. I'll be there im a few days to pick her up." Jayde said.
"So conversation over?" He asked.
"Yep." She got up and went back into the house to crawl in her bed and deal with her misery.
—
"I don't know what I'm doing ma. I think I just lost the love of my life for a temporary feeling." Julian sat in his mom's kitchen as she prepared breakfast for the house. He held Serenity in her arms , trying to get her to go to sleep.
