Video call

Me and Leah have been going out for a week now, none of the girls know. I told Gio I didn't have the guts to say anything to Leah. Leah told Beth the same. We were still in lockdown and nothing had changed.

I'm sat at the kitchen island on my phone, I get a message.

Message:
Jonas eidevall: hey everyone, thought I should let you all know. We are in complete lockdown still and won't be training for a while, we are arranging a team call please join it at 10am x

Leah come downstairs "guess we've got something to do now"
"Guess so" I say
I already had my laptop down here since I was doing my work for coaching. I do some more then the call come through. "Le" I shout. She comes and sits next to me. We join it and see most of the girls and Jonas, some of the girls were still joining.

"Right everyone's here, So let's get this started" Jonas says
"We are absolutely no where in the near future going to be playing" he says
"Therefore training at home has to be done, it's not optional. If it's optional and you don't do it, it will hit you when you come back to full time football, you won't be fit enough. Do you want that?" He says
We all say no. "Leah and Ella how's it been going for you two" he asks
"For me, it's been going well, I've been following it everyday so yeah I think I would be alright to play a ninety minute game" I say
"Same, I just listen to music and crack on" Leah says
He asks all the girls.

Teyah says "I've got some news for you all"
"I've ruptured my acl, I've had my surgery but now it's just rehab" I feel bad for teyah. The call ends and my mam calls me on my laptop. I answer it "hey mum"
"Oh, hey sweetie. Everything okay?" She asks me
"Yeah" Leah was still next to me and she puts her hand on my thigh.
"I believe we haven't met" she says signalling to Leah.
"I'm Leah, Leah Williamson." She says
"I'm Lucia"
"Hey" Leah says
"Nice to meet you" my mam says
"So what's been going on in Brazil. Gran finally got the tattoo of my face yet" I ask jokingly
"We don't miss you that much to go to such an extent. But no, everyone's fine here. Your cousin Adriana moved out before Covid, she's living in Peru now" my mam says. As you can tell we don't talk very often.
"Really, is she actually able to be independent" I say surprisingly
"Yeah somehow. Anyway what about you what's been going on with you" she asks me
"Well dad died, and we're in lockdown still" I say
"Did he die of the drugs, surprised he didn't die earlier if I'm being honest"
"Yeah, as per usual ended up in hospital after taking too many, I'm actually surprised, Harry and Arthur haven't joined him yet"
"What about Johnny, how's he?"
"Still bad, but he's more capable I would say"
"Any girlfriend, or boyfriend yet?" She asks me
I look at Leah and she nods.

"Yeah actually" i say
"Really" my mam acts surprised.
"Well you've already met her" I say
"Don't tell me it's Gio, she lovely but I don't think she would make a good girlfriend always pictured her with someone like Rafa"
I start to laugh and say "mam it's not Gio"
"Then who could it possibly be, I've only met Gio and Rafa"
"Well your kinda been talking to them recently"
"Oh is it Leah?"
"Yeah"
She I suspect happy and it's not just an act I can tell. "I'm so happy for you both, oh how I wish I could just jump out the screen and hug you both"
"Thanks mum"
"Thanks Lucia" Leah says

"I better get going, your gran needs me"
"Bye mum"
She ends the call and it's now just me and Leah again. "I told my mam anyway, so now both our mams know" Leah says
I kiss her and say "what would I do without you?"

"Why don't we tell Beth and Gio" she suggests
"You joking it's going to be hilarious when we tell them in person, we just kiss infront of them and then act like we have no clue what they are on about when they start saying stuff about  us"
"True, I can't wait to see Beth's priceless face"
