Leaving

Me and Leah walk into training, I felt as if everyone hated me. I go into Jonas office and Leah goes to the changing rooms.

"I've had an offer" he starts with

"Where for?" I ask

"A couple places actually, I know you want to stay in London ideally. There's a couple here but also a couple more that are outside London"

"Okay, can I hear them all"

"Yeah, so the ones outside of London" he says

"Lee sanders, thinks your the perfect fit, he's the manager of Durham. He says he needs someone like you who has the perfect energy and commitment to a team" he says

"Then we have Melanie Reay, she manages Sunderland. She said similar things to lee" he says

"And last one out of London is Manchester City. Gareth Taylor, has asked for you for quite a while but I've always rejected his offers"

"And in London?" I ask

"London city lionesses, Chelsea and Tottenham"

"Please tell everyone else 'thank you' but keep Chelsea and Tottenham on standby I'll let you know my answer tomorrow, thank you Jonas"

I go into the changing rooms and get changed. I run out and Jen comes over to me she says "I know you didn't want us to find out that way. We completely understand that"

"Yeah, thanks Jen"

That's when I realised my decision. I run back into Jonas and say "I've made my decision"

"That was quick, are you sure?"

"Yeah, I think Chelsea" I say

"Okay I'll let Emma know"

"Thank you"

I go back out with a smile on my face, I see Gio slowly approaching so I run in a different direction. Leah comes up to me "listen to what she has to say"

I go over to Gio and she says "I'm sorry, I didn't mean for any of that. But I didn't mean for you to leave, I don't want you to leave, I need my best friend back. Please stay"

"I can't Gio, I've already got a new club. I just need to sign there, I'm going tomorrow"

Training finishes, we head back in. Leah asks "where have you signed"
"Probably better not to mention them in here" I say

We drive home and I tell her. "I've got to say goodbye to everyone tomorrow, it will be bittersweet, and I can't wait until I play yous and smash yous completely" I say slightly laughing.

"Just you wait, we are actually a good team" she says

"Not when I tell Sam all your weaknesses"

"Your going to be friends with Sam Kerr, give me strength" she says sarcastically

We get home and we chill all night watching movies.

The next morning I wake up, so does Leah. She gets changed in the training kit and I change into a Nike jumper and some shorts.

We drive there and Leah looks at me and says "is this definite"
"I guess so" I say
"You haven't signed anything, you can stay"
"I'm sorry le" I say

We get out the car and go into the meeting room. I sit next to Katie and Leah sits next to Beth a couple rows back.

Hallie starts off by saying "obviously it's sad to see teammates going to new clubs, but it's important we are happy for them. They are starting a new chapter and it will be scary so we have to support their decisions and help them. It's not only sad to see a player and teammate go, but it's sad to see a friend and a terrific goal scorer leave the club"

I start to cry and Katie comforts me. "25 goals scored in the year and a half Ella has been with us. Thank you, I'm not the only one who wants to speak to you. Rafa, the Brazilian captain would also like to share some words" Hallie says

Rafa stands up and says "your a legend to this club, and even though you've only been here a year and a half you've made a massive impact to everyone. Your a special player and we hope you can continue that at your next club. This is a part of life that we have to say goodbyes to special people and say hello to new teammates, but no one could ever replace you." She says starting to tear up. "Not just me but the full team know how well you play and how much of a legend you are. You bring the sun to this club so keep shining and I'm sure you will, shine at your next club superstar"

I stand up and give her a hug.

"Also someone else has a couple words for you. Gio" Hallie says

As much as I hated Gio at this moment, she had been my best friend my full journey here.

"I've known you my full life, but on your first day I didn't even know you had signed here. We've been through ups and downs and I know your a special friend, player and teammate. You can go very far if you put your mind to it, so please keep working hard, keep being you and shining. Your an amazing person and I love you for that. You've helped me through all my difficult times and I know I might not of done that recently, I know how much you love football and your passion for it. I want to support you in the next part of your life. Keep shining"

I stand up and give her a hug. Hallie says "do you want to say anything"

I stay stood up and look at everyone.

"Everyone in this room has made sure I push myself to my full potential and made sure I have the strength to do anything. I thought I would just get my bag and go, but that's not quite what happened" I say laughing. "I love every single one of you. I hope you smash it and I can't wait to be back in the league soon and see you all again. I will miss life here, it's been my home for quite a while now and I don't know what my life will throw at me in my next club. What unexpected mystery I will have, but I hope you all smash it, and yeah. I wish you the best of luck."

"Leah, what can I say. You've always been there even if we started off bad. We've always been there for each other secretly, and I'm glad we found our ways to each other. Katie, I adore your little jokes daily and your Irish accent that I barely understand half the time. Viv, your an idol to me. I look up to you constantly, and wonder when can I be like her. Beth, keep going is what you always told me. And I'm grateful you did, you've helped me become the person I am today so thank you for that."

I take a breathe "Wally, your just an expert when it comes to football, I will hopefully learn your technique sometime soon. Caitlin, although you talk to me about the Gold Coast and I have no idea what your on about. I will keep listening because your the definition of a star. Lina, I will always look up to you. Literally, because your so tall. Teyah, keep pushing through the hard times, I know injures are hard to get through sometimes. Steph, please don't tackle me down the wing when I play for my next club, because I will literally never get the ball back." A couple people laugh.

I continue "kimmy, I love your personality and the responsibility to be a captain must be crazy, but your such a good one. You helped me every-time we step onto that pitch. Gio, your my best friend and keep shining like always. Jen, I love you and adore you so much." Leah shouts "hey I thought I was your girlfriend"

I laugh and say "Jen your Scottish banter is hilarious, please keep saying them jokes. Stina, keep being the amazing striker we all know you can be. Laura, never let anything make you step down, I love the fire you have and the passion you have the moment you see a football. Frida, your family to me. Victoria, you mean so much to me and keep annoying people in the midfield, I respect you for that. Manu, please don't save to many of my goals. Lotte, I literally love your doodles, please keep doing them, it actually inspires me. Kathrine, I know we don't know each other too well but I love your style of play."

"Michelle, how could i forget you, keep scoring bangers and your going to be an inspiration to the next generation. Cloe, Amanda and Alessia I don't really know any of you except less from England. But I'm sure your all incredible players so keep going. Sabrina I love your passion and the way you do your hair. Noelle, I love your style of footy, if I wanted someone's style it would definitely be yours. Madison, laila, Katie, ruby and Naomi I don't really know who you guys are, but your so incredibly good when I see you training. Keep going and I'm sure you'll be at the England camps before you know it. Thank you everyone"

I get my flowers and walk down the corridor for the last time.
