"What?! You can't be serious!"
I was currently sitting on my bed, twirling a strand of hair around my finger, as my mom put her anger out on me. Sighing, I laid down, lying on my back. I had just told her about me and Sean's relationship, and like Sean predicted, she was furious.
"Franny are you even listening to me?!"
Why is it that I'm always the one that always seems to get yelled at for no apparent reason.
"You better be listening young lady! Liam is a sweet young man, I'm not letting him go, just because you want to be its Sean." I sit up, anger boiling up. "You and Sean had your chance! Sean doesn't deserve you!"
"Can you just shut up?!!" I screamed. She pushed way too far. "Sean loves me mom! You have no right, no right at all, to say those things about Sean and me. Sure I liked Liam, but if we did get married, he would never show me as much love as Sean will." I knew that one was a lie. After the times I've spent with Liam, as a friend, in my opinion, he would make the best husband a girl could ever have. But I didn't want to tell her that, it was just a crush. "Liam is too good for me mom."
"What do you mean too good? Any girl would die to be in your place Franny. Anyone."
"You don't run my life, and have no say in who I get to be with. So stop!" She frowns. "Mom, I love you, so much, but Liam is like a friend to me, he understands." My voice slowing down to a whisper. "Sean loves me, and I love him, and there's nothing you can do about it." I storm past her and out the door.
I started walking , not knowing exactly where I was going. I pulled my cell phone from my pocket and phoned the only person that could convince my mom.
Liam.
"Hello? Is this Liam?"
"Yeah, it's me. What's up?" His breathing was rapid, and you could tell he was panting.
"Liam are you ok? You sound like you just ran a marathon."
"Naw, just went for a very, very,...very long run." He chuckles. "Gotta keep fit for the ladies, you know what mean?"
I giggle, nodding. "Um, I called to see if you could talk to my mom."
"She didn't like the idea of you and Sean dating, did she?" He sighs.
"Nope."
"I will, don't worry. You're my friend, and I like Sean, so it's the least I could do."
"Thank you so much, Liam. How can I ever repay you?"
"I probably should be one of those friends that say it's no problem, but yeah, there's a way you can repay me. Uh, I have to watch my siblings again, and I was wondering if you would like to join me."
"Well, two is better the one. Don't worry, I'll help." I giggle.
"Nice." I could tell he had that boyish grin on his face. "Then I'll see you on Monday, I'll pick you up."
"Alright, and thanks again Liam...yeah...alright...bye." I hang up, happy now that I have some who actually does understand.
The day Sean told Liam that we were together, I expected Sean to come back with a broken something, but he was all smiles. He told me how Liam immediately agreed, he just wanted to be a friend of mine, he wasn't really fond of the whole marriage thing, and he didn't want to waste my time. That day, they became great friends. Now, they basically know everything about each other, and lucky for us, Ian was there, and he didn't mind either, which was a big surprise. I guess he now realized we weren't meant for one another.
