"Aren't you excited?" I shove Ian's shoulder.
All he does is shrug and frown.
"Ian, come on, this is your birthday we're talking about. You have to be excited."
"I don't know." He sighs, shrugging again.
"Sean's excited." I told him. "I totally forgot you both had the same birthday."
This whole weekend, I had been thinking of what to give Ian and Sean for their birthday. I had already figured out Ian's, but Sean's was difficult to figure out.
"Yeah, I guess so. Birthdays aren't my thing anymore." He stood up, saying something about going to see Brian.
I wonder why birthdays aren't his thing anymore. He used to love them. The party never started until he walked. He was the life of the party, and now he wasn't excited about his own? What could this mean?
*Ian's POV*
I stand up from my seat and walk away. That's all I can seem to do anymore. Shrug and walk away.
I didn't want her to know that the only reason I wasn't looking forward to the party, was cause I wouldn't be able to enjoy it, knowing that she's with Sean now. She's going to give him something big, obviously, but it bothers me. I won't get to have alone time with her like we used to. I won't get to hold her and whisper how much I love her in her ear, I won't get to touch every inch of her body.
And it's true, I still love her, even after everything that's happened. I saw a future with her, but she's with Sean now, and there's really nothing I can do about now. He's like a brother to me, I don't want to ruin this for him.
Looking up, as I reach Brian's door, I step in without knocking.
"Hey Brian." I look up to see him watching a chick flick, well that's what it looked like. "What are you watching?" I chuckle.
"My girlfriend's going to be away for a month and it's killing me, man. I'm watching her favorite movie She's the Man. It's pretty good. Popcorn?" He reached out a bowl of popcorn, but I shake my head. "Suit yourself. What do you need?"
"It's about the party you guys are throwing."
"What about it? Don't tell me you're not going to come to your own party. Dude, you're the life of the party." He whined.
"No, I'm coming. It's...it's just that, I-I don't think I'm going to enjoy it all that much."
"Why not?" He frowned, setting down the bowl of popcorn. "What do you mean you're not going to enjoy it? It's about Franny isn't it?" I sigh. "It's always her that ruins everything!" He yelled.
"Brian, it's not her fault, I'm being stupid anyways. I just can't be there knowing that she'll probably take Sean upstairs, and...you know the rest. I still love her, but I want what's best for her. They love each other, and I really want to keep it that way. I'm not sure I can hide my feelings any longer." I sigh.
"You know what?" He pointed a finger at me. "I'm gonna help you get laid. Since my girl won't be here, it's you and I. I'll search the entire house, if I have to, to find you the one to get your mind off of Franny." He looked determined.
"Brian, you don't have to." I shake my head laughing.
"Uh no, I do." He said it like it was the most obvious thing. "How long has it been since you got laid?"
"A long time."
"Then this is your chance. Dude, this will help you. Trust me. Besides, you're not the only one. I bet Landon is still hung up on her." He popped a popcorn in his mouth. "Or, if you want we could go pick up some chicks at the mall." He suggested.
