As Rehan made his way down the street, his eyes caught sight of a familiar figure. He couldn't believe his eyes—it was Sarah, wearing a hejab and abaya, radiating with a big smile. His heart skipped a beat as he realized it had been three long years since he last saw her.
Rehan's surprise was twofold. Not only was he taken aback by Sarah's presence, but also by her new avatar. Sarah, who had never worn hejab and abaya before, looked absolutely stunning in them. The hejab framed her face delicately, accentuating her features, while the abaya draped gracefully around her, adding an air of elegance to her presence.
In Rehan's eyes, Sarah was a vision of beauty and grace. The hejab and abaya seemed to enhance her inner glow, making her even more captivating. Her smile, as always, was infectious, and it warmed Rehan's heart to see her happy.
As Sarah felt a gaze upon her, she turned her head and was taken aback to find Rehan standing there, looking at her with a mix of shock and surprise. Her heart skipped a beat, and she couldn't help but feel a rush of emotions.
As Sarah's eyes traveled down, she noticed Rehan's attire—a black kurta with folded sleeves, and the upper two buttons undone, revealing a glimpse of his chest. It was a look that gave confidence and a hint of casual charm.
Their eyes locked for a moment, and Sarah could sense the unspoken words between them. She mustered the courage to break the silence, her voice filled with a mix of surprise and curiosity. "Rehan?" She muttered.
"Sarah" he called out softly.
Rehan and Sarah reunited after a long absence. Rehan eagerly asked, "How are you? It's been a long time."
Sarah responded with gratitude, saying, "Alhamdulillah, I'm doing well. And how about you, Rehan?"
"By the way, what were you doing here?" Sarah asked being curious.
Rehan hesitated for a moment before explaining, "I actually didn't get a chance to meet you yesterday, so ammi asked me to meet you. Everyone else had already met you except for me."
Sarah's smile faded slightly, a tinge of disappointment in her heart. She thought that he came here to meet her on his own. But deep down, Rehan himself want to see her but he didn't want to make it an awkward so he lied which disappointed Sarah.
She nodded, her expression softening. "It's alright. I understand. Okay, I'll take my leave now. Ammi and Abbu must be waiting for me," she said, her voice tinged with a hint of sadness. With that, she turned and walked away, leaving Rehan feeling shocked and remorseful.
As Rehan watched Sarah depart, a whirlwind of emotions engulfed him. He recognized the significance of genuine connections and vowed to rectify his mistake with Sarah, determined to demonstrate just how much she meant to him.
He had imagined their reunion countless times, but this was nothing like he had expected. Sarah had transformed in more ways than one. Her demeanor had changed, and she carried herself with a newfound grace. But it wasn't just her behavior that had transformed but her appearance had undergone a stunning metamorphosis as well. Rehan felt a surge of pride as he saw her embracing her faith as a better Muslim. It warmed his heart to see her growth and dedication. And top off all, she didn't ignore him like he had feared. Instead, she engaged in meaningful conversation, showing him kindness and respect. It was a moment of pure happiness for Rehan, a testament to the power of change and the beauty of reconnecting with someone who has become the best version of themselves.
On the other side, Sarah's heart swelled with joy when she saw Rehan standing before her after three long years. She couldn't help but feel a glimmer of hope that he had come to meet her on his own will. However, her happiness quickly turned to disappointment when Rehan revealed that he had only come because his mother had asked him to. The words stung Sarah deeply and it was him because she went to Delhi and also stopped being a part of any family gatherings. She couldn't bare the thought of his indifference and lack of interest. In that moment, it felt like all her efforts had been in vain. Rehan, unaware of Sarah's feelings, unknowingly crushed the flicker of hope that had ignited within her. Little did he know, he unintentionally hurted a beautiful soul.
And so, Sarah with her hopes shattered, couldn't bring herself to reveal the pain she felt at Rehan's unintentional dismissal. And Rehan, who was clueless about Sarah's journey to Delhi and the significance it held for her, continued on, unaware of the beautiful soul he was unintentionally hurting. As the story unfolded, their paths intertwined, yet their true feelings remained concealed, buried beneath layers of misunderstandings and missed opportunities.
